It’s a very nice place to hangout with friends. We ordered the happy hour special cocktail for only 6 dollars! Sashimi is fresh and sushi tastes sooooo good! Highly recommend!
Caution! NEVER LEAVE A TIP, THE OWNER KEEPS IT ALL! I ordered over $70 in sushi for multiple people but discovered I only received 3 packs of soy sauce, 1 napkin and 1 pair of chopsticks when I got home. When I called to question this I was informed the owner has told the employees to only give one of each item no matter the order size unless more have been requested. But there is no point leaving comments for your order because they aren’t fulfilled and you aren’t contacted if there are any issues. But the biggest complaint is the website automatically adds a tip but the employees NEVER receive the tips unless you hand them cash through the window, so NEVER LEAVE A TIP, THE OWNER KEEPS IT ALL. Sushi was good at least.
We had never ordered from here but it was the only place open on a Monday when all of our “go to” sushi restaurants in Victoria were closed. Order was large (ebi tempura; yakitori; salmon and ahi sashimi; steak sauce so we can add it to our home cooked rice; a few rolls; ebi nigiri; edamame and some miso). The meal - while a bit on the expensive side - was stunning. Sashimi portions were top quality and sizeable. Everyone around the table agreed it was one of our best sushi feasts ever. Will definitely try them again to see if it’s consistent or if we just got lucky.
i never received any updates through the door dash app on the status of my order. it kept saying the restaurant was going to prepare it at a later time and the time kept moving later and later.after an hour and a half i called them and they said it had been ready and they were waiting for me or a driver to get it (i had ordered for pick up). i was confused because the app said they were yet to even start preparing it. if i hadn’t called, it would have kept saying later and later. i tried asking questions and the man speaking was angry and easily frustrated with me, although at no point was i anything but kind - I was just trying to figure out what happened.when i arrived he glared at me and commented on how if you feel the food, it’s still warm, which i disagree upon inspection but i thanked him and left. it took more than double the expected time, the app said 30-40 mins, and overall it took 2 hours and was an uncomfortable experience. lastly, i was not given chopsticks to eat the sushi with, and this place is way overpriced for the quality and amount of food you receive.
Dinner for two... What a joke, don't waste your time or money. $50 dinner lobster for two was not even enough for one. It wasn't even a lobster, it was a fried scampi. They received my business once and only, never again...
Apparently this place is also the kitchen for a new restaurant 'Chickenability'. We ordered for pickup from Doordash today - I would give 2 stars as a combo of bad customer service and tasty food. The owner's (I guess?) face looked grumpy when we arrived at their pickup window. We let him know we were picking up our order from Doordash and he forced us to show some 4-digit code? I've been using Doordash customer portal for years, and I happened to have looked at the merchant portal, I've never seen such thing like a 4-digit code. All Doordash gives the customer or the driver for pick up is always the customer's name. Does the owner even look at their delivery tablets?I have to say that the food was great. Really big portion that's worth the price. Otherwise I'd give a 1 star. By the way, we ordered 2 meals but only got 1 pair of chopsticks - do I look like I'm capable of finishing 2 big portions?Anyway, Happy New Year.
