I feel bad leaving a 1star review but the food was bad, the wait was long and it was over $70 for 4 tacos and a burrito and 2 drinks. As you can see in the picture the tacos were so soggy they crumbled under their own weight. Making them almost inedible, I just didn’t want to waste the money I just spent. The burrito wasn’t really a burrito but more of a salad wrap with chicken tenders. Overall I found the food lacking in flavour. Sorry guys, I hope you do better next time, expected more from one of the taco places in Vic.

How on earth this place has such good reviews is beyond me. The asada burrito was beyond bland with almost no meat to be found. It took 20 minutes (!!!) which is wildly unacceptable, particularly since I was the ONLY person there - there were no other orders, yet it took them 20 minutes to prepare this very lackluster underfilled poor excuse of a burrito. The multiple instantpots clearly visible in the kitchen should have been a BIG red flag - there is nothing authentic about this place at all, and if you want to please your tastebuds do yourself a favour and try any of the other taquerias within walking distance (of which there are many) and I'm sure you'll have better luck. Beyond disappointing, will not be back.

We came here recently for the first time. Ordered four kinds of tacos, the fish baja, atun, mole, and campechano. The fish baja was delicious, atun (seared tuna) was also great. I tried the campechano because it was “todays special” and also looked great on the featured picture that they have next to the cashier. I was utterly disappointed with the campechano because when it arrived at the table, looked NOTHING like what the picture by the cashier showed. It tasted overly sour, and there was no cilantro. We also tried their churro and they were fantastic.Overall everything was good EXCEPT for the campechano……

Had a nice time with my friends here, I thought the price is a bit high until I saw each taco is stuffed. But I’ve been there twice, they keep telling me that they don’t have prawn taco. The dining table on the left side was narrow and noisy, and had a strong cooking smells.

The self-service approach to get a glass of warm water didn’t seem to be the most sanitary way to do things these days, but the crispy chicken burrito was decent and interesting. The staff seemed to do a good job; but there could have been another server on the floor. The churros were a rip. 6 bucks for 4 little tired churros doesn’t cut it. We would consider returning, especially if it looked cleaner next time.

I would like to start by saying that I support small business and I do not like giving poor reviews, but I was not pleased with the quality tonight. The quesadilla con frijoles y queso tasted like cheddar cheese and mush. There was no freshness to it. The taco al pastor was dry. The mole taco tasted really weird, and overly sweet. None of the three had any heat to them; no salsa verde/roja, and no limes were provided. My partner was born in Mexico, and I've been blessed to eat his mother's cooking - and I have not yet found anything comparable here in Victoria

Very fast friendly service, incredibly yummy tacos, wide selection of tacos and a fun place to hangout

Not too happy with this restaurant experience. Went in to order and asked for water. Went back and sat at our table for a while. Finally asked for water and was informed it was self serve. The lady at the front did not mention this. My bowl came and it was not what I had expected. It was shaved meat. I informed the servers I did not want the dish and they still charged me for it. I expected it to be ground beef as it was supposed to be in a burrito. The menu needs to be more specific or I should have at least had a discount as I did not eat my meal at all. They were not accommodating at all or informative. Rude service at the beginning to the end. They didn’t even give me cutlery for my bowl so I used my partners spoon from his soup. I left hungry and upset I spent 33.00 on two small tacos and a soup.

Amazing menu, whether you want to drop in for a quick snack or come in for a big meal! Delicious, fast, with a great happy hour! There are many veg and vegan options and the food is so fresh and tasty. The people are friendly and the place is clean. Even when it's super busy! Thanks La Taqueria!

We chose La Taqueria based on reviews, but were VERY disappointed. The meaning of the term "Pinche" in Mexico aptly describes our experience. QR codes are checked but ID is not. After this check, it is basically a self-serve place. You have to come back to the front to order and anytime you need something during the meal (more drinks, sauce, water, napkins, spoons, etc. etc). At no point during our entire meal did anyone ask us how we were enjoying the food. It was mediocre at best. The tortilla chips were both overcooked and undercooked, and uniformly greasy. The fish taco was two greasy battered pieces of pollock, with a smidge of tasteless slaw/sauce. I am still astounded by the reviewers who says this is the best fish taco they have ever had...it ranked as one of our worst ever. The margaritas, however, were quite delicious. We spent a month eating out in Victoria and this was the only (very) unsatisfactory meal.
