The food was amazing and I can't understand how it wasn't more busy on father's day. Strongly recommend as a hidden gem. Sorry The Keg and Milestones.

I have been frequenting JRS lately, almost on a weekly, and it gets better every time! My first foray into the space was on a dreary winter night and there was Latin music and dancing going on! It is their weekly event on Wednesdays btw. Other times have been on other weeknights. My new go-to is their Steak! So goooood! And as the staff see me, I feel like I am becoming one of their regulars! Looking forward to my next visit!
they gave my friend a beer containing alcohol when she asked several times for a non alcoholic beer because she is sober. when she complained that it wasn’t alcoholic free, the owner snarled at her and tried to serve it to her a second time in a glass so she couldn’t see it what kind of beer it was. when she complained again, he said “ you don’t have to drink it” then tried to get her to pay for both beers. left her completely distraught and beginning her sobriety at day 1 again. horrible service.
Had an awesome waiter who helped us out with our gluten and dairy free restrictions. Had the chicken burger (McChicken 5.0 stars) Ahi Bowl (Bomb) and the southwest chicken salad (Refreshing). Highly recommend and would go again
Really good food! I got the calamari to start and the veggie burger as my main, all was done very well and tasted delicious. Will go back ✨
I loved the ambience and music. But let's talk about the drink!!!! It was amaaaaaazingggg. I would definitely be back for more. The only negative was that the bar tender was not very attentive, hence the missing one star.
Love this place! Everyone is super friendly and they actually remember regulars unlike some restaurants in the downtown core with high traffic! (My biggest pet peeve with other places!! if I’m spending money so often at least remember my face) Especially love JR Slims for remembering which regulars have vax passes because we come so often:) (a nice reminder of what it used to feel like before the passes.)It makes us feel so special to walk into a bar where the staff is excited to see us. They make you feel like you're their friends and the food is amazing. Rare.
Always a great experience at JR Slims... attentive servers, great menu selection, and tasty food. Happy to see diligence in their Covid-protocol and in checking passports and cleaning.Late-night happy hour deals are a nice touch and the meatballs are delicious. Highly recommended.
Really liked this place, the team running it are efficient and professional, the cocktails are delicious! And the food just as yummy. Great location too, right in the heart of nightlife in Old Victoria. Love love the music they play too. Of note...the steak and that sauce and the perfectly done greens...mouthwatering!
