Went Saturday for the first time with 2 friends. Waitress was the rudest I've ever seen, she definitely shouldn't be serving patrons. She thought we were tourists and not her regulars. Will definitely never go back. Food was meh, decor dated but place was clean. Definitely spend your money elsewhere. Bill was $200. We were still nice enough to give her 10% tips but she deserved none.
Went here again (second time) with my wife and again was SO happy and impressed with the great service and the atmosphere nice cozy quiet pub where you can enjoy an awesome menu with so many affordable food options pub classics to healthier options. Prices are very fair and portions are good! Food presentation was nice and most items are made from scratch. Drinks were great hard to find one in Victoria for $4.50!! I love the pub’s environment very laid back and quiet can hear what your company is saying and the staff are great our server was polite and professional yet easy going and friendly. Service A+ Food A, atmosphere A, cleanliness A. Prices A+Can’t wait to go back think I found my new hang out! I love it
3 of us visited, server was horrible, attitude towards us was way different then with everyone else. Apparently bartender did go above and beyond looking up a recipe for us. Poor excuse from owner as to reasons why. Spend your money at The Swans- better atmosphere, better service and all in all in whole a way better experience. Especially if you aren't local.
Corey is an excellent waitress in the pub. She always makes having a meal there enjoyable. Her service is outstanding and her personality is outstanding. This is the best neighborhood pub in the city and the food is great.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Despite the crowd not being am my age group, I enjoyed the vibe. Food was good and the menu has lots of options. My father loved that it wasn’t a place where you would find strange groupings of food and unexpected ingredients to what should be Very standard recipes. In other words they did a great job of serving exactly what we expected.
Have been in Victoria for 2 weeks and have gone to the James Bay Inn 3 times already. Great Service every time, Great food every time, Reasonable price. I would HIGHLY recommend it.
One of the best breakfasts for the best price I've had in years. And all of the eggs Benny's were phenomenal. Also, the various servers each of the 3 times I was there were absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to go back.
I love to support local as much as possible during this difficult times just a nice place and good food. Sorry not 5 star today lol
The two of us decided to go for a quick weenend getaway.Arriving late we went to the pub for dinner and drinks Food was good and the drinks were cold.Walked around the area exploring coffee shops and everything in between.Great location and an old character feel we enjoyed our stay..Only gripe was the bed posts were exposed so we banged our legs a few times in the small room Overal we recommend a stay for locals and visitors.We will lilely be back!
This place is unbelievable, great service, great food, awesome atmosphere in the Cafe and Pub
