Best Chinese food in town, and we’ve tried them all. Their ginger and onion chow mein is especially amazing, as is their spicy ginger fried chicken - but virtually everything they offer is great. We’re always kicking ourselves when we try somewhere new and it doesn’t live up to J&J, like why didn’t we just stick to what we know is great…
We ordered pick up several times since pandemic. It was our first time that we dined in there few days ago.I think they are quite expensive since their food portion is quite small or tiny. So. Be prepared to order extra dishes if you want to fill your stomach full. Not recommend to go again.
I don’t know how they could improve. The food was amazing, the service was perfect, the wait time was minimal.Whenever I want to take someone for Chinese food I always recommend this place. I have never had a bad experience here.
So this really is a difficult review to post! Lovely people, so incredibly friendly! Unfortunately, the service was SO slow, and we had to ask for everything we needed (tea refils, water, etc). We waited over an hour for our food, and when it came, half of it was cold! It tasted good, but the big problem came with the amount of MSG in it! I turned beet red, and we all had the worst headaches for the rest of the night! Very disappointing! We won't be back again, and if you are sensitive to sulfide, we don't recommend eating here!
My family has been coming here for over 15 years and it is still my favourite restaurant!J and J levels up your average westernized Chinese food found in Victoria!Must haves are: honey sesame fried chicken, ginger beef, Hoiken thick noodle, 1/2 BBQ duck, salt and pepper squid (spicy), imperial prawn, sichuan style green beans. Trust me, the only think you will regret about ordering any of these dishes is that you didn’t order two!!!
As others have mentioned, the size of the dishes you get are really small in terms of quantity. The chili beef dish we ordered looked like a half-order, it was shocking. And the chow mein was maybe 2/3 what you’d normally get somewhere else. The quality was quite good, but not worth the price in my opinion, especially if you’re feeling hungry
This is our go to place for Chinese food whenever we are in Victoria. The quality of different dishes are very consistent. We never had one disappointing meal there. There are around 15 tables available in the restaurant. Friendly service and decent speed. 2 hour street pay parking available. Evenings after 6pm and weekends are free.
Great food, great portions and best of all great prices. We had 2 gluten free dishes, green beand and beef chow fun. Both were superb . Weorder just after 4:30 and 5 the food was delivered-amazing service. Everything was most impressive- a superb wide-ranging menu.
Ate here today as it has a gluten free menu - a decent menu to choose from and the place was super busy at 630 on a Friday night which is a good sign I guess. Mixed fried rice was a little greasy, sweet and sour was goopy and ginger beef was a little tough so all in all pretty average Chinese food
I just wanted to say that J & J's has restored my love for good food! I would often lean toward Thai or Vietnamese cuisine if I had the choice, but after an amazing dining experience at J & J's Noodle House I can't recommend it highly enough. Every dish we ordered was so fresh and full of flavour. The service was impeccable, the tea delicious and plentiful, and we will most definitely be back for more.
