Decent and better than anything else you’ll find in the area. Rice for nigiri is not great. Rushed, broken grains, not well seasoned not enough vinegar. One of the 15 pieces I ate was presented with fresh, still warm rice which was better but the remaining 14 were on last batch of rice. Serve the same rice for all pieces presented to the same guest so they aren’t wishing they had the better stuff that they had for only one bite. Fish was fresh, but cut by an unskilled hand, sinew left in both toro and hamachi offered, the tail end of the cut left trailing sinew off the rice. Extremely rushed non personable service with no extra given. “Hello, everything ok? Anything else? Get out”. Type of deal.
Expensive but good quality and presentation, miso soup was especially good but about double the price I normally pay in Vancouver. Avoid sitting by the entrance as it gets cold with all the ins and outs.
Very cozy Japanese restaurant. Portion size and price are both excellent. The tempura is fried well, and not greasy.Give the deep fried banana a try.
We have eaten here at least a dozen times and each meal has ben excellent..hot, fresh, plentiful, delicious with prompt and gracious service. We recommend Fudo to all of our friends and clients and plan to continue to enjoy dining there in person. Their Bento Box lunches are extraordinary
The best sushi in Victoria. You won't want to eat anything else after this. Great for vegetarians too.
Fudo Japanese Restaurant is great and did not disappoint. This was our first visit since the pandemic started and we felt safe. We took takeout. We had the veggie tempura, yam tempura, veggie tempura sushi rolls, yam tempura sushi rolls and the deluxe sashimi. We paid $75+tip. The deluxe sashimi was $40 and was the best I've had in years, anywhere. Every single piece was varied, extremely fresh and very well presented. The tempura batter was perfect, not soggy at all and was thick (in a good way). The service was great, again I felt very safe and I'm already planning my next meal at Fudo Japanese Restaurant.

I got the bananacado roll, Tigers eye roll, and mango roll. So yummy! I think they would have been better not delivery, but tasted surprisingly good delivered.
