I don't know why this restaurant isn't rated even higher than it is already. Very authentic tasting Thai food. This is coming from a person who considers Thailand a second home and has been there at least 10 times if not more.Amazing food!!! Service was also excellent. It was my second time back to the restaurant. The first time was only two people. This time we were a large group of ten so I got to try quite a few items.The highlights for me were their chicken satay with an amazing peanut sauce, the Tom Kha soup was just brilliant, the Som Tum ( Papaya salad) was nice and fresh and the Pad Kra Pow (minced pork with basil) was probably the dish of the night.Must visit if you're in Victoria!!!
Love the food but I was looking forward to having it for dinner all day. I needed to order delivery and it was down on all platforms. I was able to reach them over them phone but they would not do anything to help, I asked if I could simply place a delivery order over the phone but they wouldn’t accept that and said I had to use the online platforms. So disappointed.

I heard a lot about this Thai food restaurant, and found the decor and servers to be nice and friendly. The food looked nice. Flavors were as per the range: mild, medium, high, etc. But the minced chicken dish we ordered was full of chicken skin. First 4-5 spoons were nice but the skin softness-and fatty texture made us all feel wanting to puke. What’s the cook thinking? Chicken dish with skin in it? Do you know Asians do NOT eat skin AT ALL in any dish and gets offended if skin is mixed in the chicken dish? And so oily? Totally not accepted. Overall, okay-okay dining experience, and I would not go there again. One visit was good enough. There are plenty of Thai restaurants around and a lot to explore than return here and being served chicken skin in the chicken dish… on top of it, the server came twice asking how’s the food… we said: Gooood!! ;-)

Appalling to even consider any of that food is fit for serving let alone charge for it. Green papaya salad was scrambled, course strings in a soup of fish sauce. Squid was slimy, chewy rings with batter flaking off entirely. Lard was basic ground up pork gristle and tasteless, other than the over plentiful raw onions. Pad Thai was sugary slop. All for the unbelievable $60! Never again.

I spent many nights at Baan Thai in it's first location and again at the Blanchard st location, loved the food! The service was always good and prices were decent and comparable to my other favourites downtown. My experience the other night was far from that, I didn't want to be critical at all as I know restaurants have suffered the past few years but I left angry. We spent over $60 for dinner for 2 with no alcohol. 2 plates were left untouched after tasting as they were so terrible (slimy squid which was a staff pick and the Larb which was a sad attempt at a failed dinner at home with so much gristle it was inedible) the server never even asked us why these dishes were not touched and didn't blink when I said no to take out containers. She just handed me the machine for payment even though I clearly had cash in my hand to pay. Very disappointed and won't be back.
Tried it out because a few of my friends suggested it. Ordered drunken noodles and fried rice through door dash. The taste was amazing. I enjoyed every bite. Just the right amount of spiciness!!
