Great food, but the service is about as bad as it can get. After attempting to place an order online, only to have it cancelled by the restaurant, we tried calling in an order. We were hung up on twice, and when we finally did speak to someone we were then directed to place the order online, which as I mentioned previously was cancelled on their end. Apparently they don't want our business...
So many reviews from several years ago!??? An Update! Ban Thai takeout was amazing. Panang curry was so flavourful and just the right spices! Gaeng Pak was also perfect. Best Thai in Victoria hands down. Rivals Thai food in Thailand it is so authentic! Pickup was ready as ordered. Oak bay location has lovely dine in ambiance as well and will return.looking forward to trying more dishes here! Great value!
Great service, good authentic Thai food. Pad Thai and fried chicken wings were great. Curry and Nam noodle soup was good. Would avoid Tom Yung as it's just wayyyy too salty.
The food was certainly better the second time around (food cool) so that is positive. I must say the staff are really pleasant ...I will return!
We had the pleasure of dining at baan thai oak bay over yhe weekend. Great atmosphere, the food was phenomenal, and our server Toni was incredible! So attentive and personable. We will be back!!!
Really good food.... However:On two separate occasions we received confirmation messages saying that our order was ready, only to arrive and find out that the kitchen didn't know that it wasn't placed in the first place.I understand that mistakes happen and that isn't the reason that our experiences were frustrating.Both times the staff at the front counter didn't tell us that our order was missed and told us that it would be "another couple of minutes". Standing at a counter for over 20 minutes, while other people come and go is a lot more frustrating than having someone apologize and give us an accurate ETA to come back/ offer a refund.When our order showed up it was obvious by the rush note in red that it was never received in the first place. Instead of apologizing or thanking us for waiting, the host said, "don't worry you did nothing wrong" when she handed us the bag. That is not what we wanted to hear, after standing around hungry for over 20 minutes.As much as I love the food here, I don't think I want to experience this a third time.
Baan Thai is a great experience!The ambiance & mood is delightful.Amazing food from recipes that date over a 100 years!The staff give great recommendations as well as the daily specials.
Baan Thai has really gone downhill. I have recently had meals in two Baan Thai locations and they were poor.We used to be regulars there but after eating at other Thai restaurants I will not return to B T. Not only are the others better!!!!!!! but BT has truly gone downhill. I will not recommend
Ordered over $100 worth of food online, given a 60 min wait time and order ID. When we called in after 45 mins, they said they didn’t have our order even though my card had been charged.Customer service was unapologetic, saying that we probably made a mistake online. They finally found our order, and said it could be ready in an hour (2 hours after we originally ordered). Had to cancel the entire order as our 4 year old and 2 year old were hangry by this point.Great food, terrible customer service.
Can’t fault Baan Thai as a go to Thai food option. Food is always good quality, reasonably priced and the place is open late. Can’t ask for much more.
