Wonderful semi-secret Whisky Bar! Tucked away above Smith's Pub the Attic is a cozy, intimate spot to smoke local, Canadian, and international whiskys.Well recommended!
I was tempted to not review this place because I love it so much I want to keep it secret.. But that would be doing it a disservice! Very quiet. Very cozy. Nice pub food and booze menu. Great for place to gather with friends and not scream over the music to the person beside you.Even has breakfast! Haven't had a chance to try that but would like to one day
10/26/19: This place is a nice pocket to chill in. Connected to Smith Bar it's quieter and more intimate. The grilled cheese, Attic burger, and classic poutine are spot on comfort food. Bartender was nice and attentive even working the entire upstairs solo.
Attached to Quality Inn Hotel, this was perfect for breakfast after seeing show at Royal Theatre. I regularly stay at this hotel, and love the convenience of restaurant attached to hotel. Server friendly, food good, tea hot. Discount price if you are staying at the hotel. Had egg over easy, bacon and tomatoes with hot cup of tea. Just what I needed for the drive back up the Island.
This is the place!!! A great nostalgic atmosphere with fantastic food. This is especially a top notch place for breakfast. PS: To my military brethren you will definitely feel at home here.
We went here with friends who are regulars, and a good deal of banter with the waiter added to the pleasure of the meal. My eggs benny were fine; the coffee was good. The ambience is agreeable, a bit old-fashioned with music to match: oldies-but-goodies by the likes of Tony Bennett, Nat “King” Cole, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Frank Sinatra, etc., played at a sensible sound level. Recommended.
Came here before an event thinking we could eat a meal 1.5 hours before we needed to leave. Ordered our food and were told it would be a half hour wait. 1 hr, 10 minutes later we’re informed our food was not near complete and they hadn’t started plating yet. We didn’t order anything extravagant— grilled cheese, sliders and fish & chips. Paid our tab and left. The server said she was sorry but it wasn’t her fault. Bad experience, won’t be back.
Small in size, hard to find, but well worth the effort. Good food. Good prices. Friendly staff. Escape the hustle of the City and relax here
The Argyle Attic is a quaint little gem of a restaurant. Bob the Waiter is fantastic with his sharp character and great wit. The food is outstanding and the quality is superb. We ate breakfast here for each of our three mornings. Our kids enjoyed the children’s breakfast-excellent value and portions. The eggs Benny was the best I’ve ever had. An absolute must when visiting Victoria!
Awesome place to have a meal any time of the day; there's never a line up! Try their poutine or their veggie burger... And ask for Bob the Waiter! Never a bad time :)
