Best place to get gluten free options that still taste good! Has a great atmosphere.Matt is an awesome waiter/server(whatever they call it these days)! Made our visit extra enjoyable with his friendly demeanor and going the extra mile for us. Best customer service I've experienced in awhile. My friend and I said we had to write a review and mention him as it's the service is what makes restaurants worth visiting.
Known for craft beer, but also has kombuchfor the non-alcoholic selections. Beer fell short and not the best that BC has to offer, but good location to stop in downtown Vernon. They also have happy hour that never hurts the wallet!
Really loved this place. Service was good and the food was great, very flavorful. Had hot wings which were terrific and the tacos were delicious! I would definitely come back here next time we're in Vernon. Next time I will try and hit Wing Wednesday, so I can have plenty more wings!
Enjoyed our visit. Tasted delicious beers in a fun and relaxed place. Made Father’s Day a little extra fun. Will keep coming back.
Awesome beer with incredible food… We really enjoyed TACO night… with an excellent choice of libations! A very well situated happening place in the heart of Vernon… well worth the trip!
While the decor looks a little tired, the menu, drinks and our server made our evening out fun and enjoyable. We choose different beverages - one had a blonde lager, one the Moscow Mule and one the Spring Meadow made with Evolve Gin from local distiller Okanagan Spirits. Menu had something for everyone - the apple Brie pizza was so loaded with toppings it was hard to pick up! The fresh chips and salsa were definitely house made and fresh. The fish and chicken tacos were also tasty - and one was definitely enough! We also shared the Deep Fried Dill Pickles with a delicious dip which left us all wondering what the secret ingredient was (wasabi?) - great value for your $$ - which is appreciated these days! We did have a slight snag when one entree was brought out waaaaay ahead of the others (20 min) and our quick acting server ensured it went back to the kitchen and a fresh one was brought out with the rest of the entrees. Well done Drew! We also understood that the kitchen had two newbie chefs coping with an unexpected influx of late customers. We would not have known that other than another customer mentioned it and were impressed that everything was tasty, at the right temperature and nicely presented. Well done Marten Brew Pub - and Drew - you truly made our evening by smoothing over the snag and maintains a smile and cheer the entire time!
Super impressed with this brewery! My husband and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary and decided to try this place out!Food was really tasty, especially the Pork & Pine Pizza with pineapple. The burger was a bit over cooked but had a nice bun with real tasty bacon. The Buddha bowl was light and refreshing. We also really enjoyed trying a variety of beers. My favourite was the blueberry vanilla ale ?Atmosphere was super cozy and we loved the industrial vibe of the architecture. Would definitely come again when we are in the area!
*update* The management has more than adequately addressed our concerns, rectified the problem and was far more courteous and understanding than I would have anticipated based on my experience with the server.It is a shame that one server’s ineptitude and poor customer service had impacted our evening and created a substandard dining experience out of what would have otherwise been an enjoyable experience as both the food and ambiance are an excellent representation of pub fare and craft brewing.I can appreciate that with all of the restrictions lifting that stress levels and underemployment in the customer service industry would be higher than usual. Although, I believe that this is more of an issue with one individual lacking the skill set and social skills to be in this industry as opposed to any issue with the establishment as a whole. Had we had another server or had this one listened to our concerns or at least directed us to a staff member who was willing to, then our initial experience would have been positive.To summarize, the food, beverages and ambiance here is quite enjoyable and there are some very interesting beer flight options Had our server checked in with us in regards to that there was plenty of interest at the table in ordering pints after sampling these. The management seems very interested in the experience of their dine-in customers and in general the staff seemed pleasant. It is nice that there are family friendly hours and a menu for children. I can understand why my brother frequents this establishment and chose this as the venue for his birthday after later receiving the high level of customer service he likely initially expected.*original review* Ludicrously poor service. I was shocked by the 18% gratuity added on to a party in excess of 12. I know it’s not a unique policy but to implement it without forewarning the party and by counting a 6 month old child who required no service at all to reach that threshold is ridiculous.The service from the waitress Allysha was inadequate as well. She had the audacity to become upset with us for changing seats amongst ourselves so we could better mingle as it upset “her system”. Not to mention she chose my 10 year old son as the outlet for this frustration.When our dissatisfaction about this was expressed and we mentioned we would like to speak with a manager she responded with “she’s not here, it’s not my problem, you can leave now.”Absolutely will not be coming back.
Order an order from them through Skip the Dishes. The food was good, and I would love to have tried the beer, but it was never sent with my order. While I appreciate that many craft breweries take a great deal of pride in their food, I am sure the understand that people really would like to sample what was on tap, and yet... my beer never arrived.
Awesome place went there for my husband and father in laws birthday! Had our little one with us and met the owner and his little one. They were super accommodating, friendly and good food! We will be back!
