We came as a group of 5 (3 adults and 2 kids) got the platter for 4 and left with some extras. The chicken wings as a side were amazing, honourable mention to the onion rings. Great selection of beers and whiskey too. Meat eaters Mecca.
If ever there was a restaurant in a city like Vancouver that deserves to be named after its owner/operator, it's Whiskey Six BBQ. You cannot visit without getting a full experience from Marc, who wears multiple hats as the owner/chef/server and bartender (amongst others, I presume). Marc is extremely passionate about food, drink, and music. You get a sense of his attention to detail from the fact that his restaurant - which he runs alone - is clean, well designed, tastefully decorated, and his menu offers something for everyone. He also stocks more local beer than any restaurant in the city! How does he do it all? I honestly don't know. Watching Marc work is literally worth the price of the meal. A truly unique experience that you won't have anywhere else in the city. Whiskey Six feels more like going to an old friends for dinner that it does a restaurant. I've never been to a restaurant in my life where I felt my tip was more deserved.
Very disappointed. The brisket was sliced as thin as bacon, and the “slice” of pickle was a sliver - no exaggeration. Practically needed tweezers to pick it up. Plus, a medium order didn’t even warrant a whole slice of bread, but rather only a half. Over-priced and over-rated. The only reason to give 2 stars was because the sides were good and the meat had a good taste. I’ve also never been to a barbecue place that didn’t provide sauce on the table. I’m sorry, but I can’t recommend this place. The owner needs to seriously think about where to cut costs. Pickles, mustard and bread are the lowest cost items - and burned a very negative impression into me.
Well to start I've never left a review and this place was so bad it drove me to do so. First off the portions were absolutely miniscule for the price. I feel like I've been robbed of $60 dollars and waisted over an hour to have this garbage delivered. The sauces they sent were in tiny containers filled less the a quarter, the beans were obviously microwaved and tasted awful along with the flavourless "mac and cheese". Our Biscuits were so undercooked when i broke them in half I thought it was cheese, took a bite and spit it out realizing it was DOUGH. This place is awful, I hope it was just an off night because if this is your business model you should be ashamed and be sued for serving this trash. ZERO STARS! SEE PICS!!
Real good BBQ. Brisket is awesome. The guy who runs this place works his butt off so the service is as good as the food. Also the cocktail menu is on point. Lots of local and high quality spirits mixed to perfection. And the beer menu is a vast assortment of local microbreweries that has something everyone will like. Best to make a reservation or call ahead for take out as this place can be pretty busy and it's easy to see why when you taste the food.
Had a great interaction with Marc and ordered a few take out sandwiches. We had the pulled pork and brisket sandwich and they were perfect. Nice portions per person and the flavor was great. We will make a reservation and definitely come back for the full meal with all the sides.
I love it! It was a busy night Marc was juggling the phones, floor, and still manage to get our food on time. We opted for dine-in, ordered the brisket and a full rack of ribs. Can't wait to go back.
Fantastic food and Celiac friendly. Small, intimate setting with excellent selection of whiskey and bourbon and delicious food made with fresh, high quality ingredients. The owner/manager is very knowledgable and friendly.
Legit BBQ spot. RESERVATION NEEDED. We didn't have reservations but the owner was kind enough to service us (it was perfect timing before the reserved guests).Everything is delicious. In house BBQ sauce is SO BOMB. We tried the platter so we get to try everything. This thing can make 5 men full (4 if y'all got heavy duty gut). Loved all the meat. Chicken was done really well. Sides like baked beans and mac and cheese are freshly made. For Chicken Gravy, it's a bit different than gravies I'm used to. Ask the chef owner if you want to know more about the gravy. Service was great but not the fastest (mine was over 20mins)I wasn't planned on drinking but they have quite a few options to pair with this feast.
Such friendly service, the server which was only one seemed like he was running the place was so nice answered every question. Food was nice, good portions. I got the half ribs, quite thuf meat did not exactly slide off the bone. Corn was a great side and chicken wings were food but you should get a dip with the wings as quite dry. Beautiful little spot not really big but quaint. Mac and cheese is beautiful, brisket so tasty.fries were the best fries I have had in a long time just missing salt everything when you are served needed allot of salt. Would really recommend.
