This is a true HIDDEN GEM! We stumbled onto this cute place on Saturday night and thought we would give it a try. Hands down the best appies! Drinks were yummy. Atmosphere had a bit of a retro cocktail lounge. All of it: fantastic! ?
My friend and I were downtown for a concert and stumbled upon Ventura Room for a drink before we went in… we are so glad we did. It was quiet and felt so much more intimate then some places downtown. Such a cool atmosphere. Reasonable food and drinks but really the staff made all the difference. Every person that helped us was beyond lovely- you almost felt like regulars. My new favourite spot- can’t wait to go back.
Came here for the first time last night before the Bill Burr show. We were in a bit of a rush and the drinks were fast. The food, not so much. That said, we asked the guy at the bar how long it would be and if we could speed things up so as to not miss the show and he obliged. Our food came with just enough time to eat (they were busy, we get it) and it was really good! We had the chips & salsa, the sushi and the boulevard cod tacos.Everything was really good as were the cocktails. Wouldn't hesitate to come again.
The waitress was very friendly, we offered a cocktail that didn't taste good, and she changed it for us right away. We will also constantly ask our customers how they feel. The vibes in the lounge bar are great and the cocktails are great too.
Made reservations here for my 19th birthday last weekend and had a great time! Our server was nice and very helpful. We loved the atmosphere of the place and the drinks here.
Unfortunately, did not like it there though really wanted to. I booked a table for 4 when we showed up they showed us a tiny table squeezed between two giant tables that could barely fit 3 of us. We asked if we could switch to different tables and they said they are all booked up. I also booked a table what difference does it make? They sat us at another horrible table with stools so uncomfortable with wabbly table water was splashed over entire menu. I was embarrassed to invite my friends over there. No place to hang our coat. It was very uncomfortable.Music very loud cant hear each other. My cocktail spilled out when they brought it to our table and didn’t bother to bring a napkin.We ended up leaving without ordering.
I went here on a walk with my boyfriend near Queen Elizabeth theatre the other night — the GM Chris was chatting with us at our table and crafted us some AMAZING little shots. We shared a couple of delicious cocktails as well. They have beautiful pineapple cups for shareable drinks — very Instagram-able, and such a cool underground vibe to the room. This is the best new little cocktail bar for date night or people watching downtown. We didn’t have to wait for a table since it was a weeknight, but I would definitely stand in line for a spot!
This is my go-to spot! Do yourself a favour and visit Ventura Room. The service and drinks are unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience; you can tell it’s their main priority. They really take the time to put thought into each dish and drink, plus they make great recommendations. The ambiance is welcoming and super chill. They also host large parties with ease and patience. Everyone there is absolutely amazing, but Christina and Katherine have been phenomenal - just above and beyond. I love this place, and I’ll continue to visit.
This place is a sure bet for a fun night out.The cocktails were so delicious. The food was also superb. Add to all of this, the amazing service. Shout-out to Chris and Katherine for making the weekend start off perfectly. Give this place a try, you won't regret it.
Get the old fashioned, one of the best I've had in a long time. The presentation and service was top notch. Staff we friendly and service was exceptional. I don't visit Vancouver to often, this will be a must stop for me when I'm in town!The old fashioned is served smoked, you absolutely must try it.
