I finally got to try this hole in the wall. I wish there were more items on the menu because the sashimi is pretty good quality for their price point. I ordered the sushi and nigiri combo. The sushi was quite delicious but you could tell that they are more known for their nigiri. The spicy agedashi doesn't hold up to its name. It's quite mild. Expect a lineup but it moves relatively quickly. You can see who's ahead from the paper list in front of the restaurant.
I’ve been a customer of Toshi’s for over 15 years. I LOVE THIS PLACE! The sushi and sashimi are excellent as it is always fresh and perfectly prepared. My favourite dishes are the spicy agedashi tofu and the baked eggplant. I was sad when the new owner changed the menu a few years ago and stopped serving black cod, and seaweed salad with fresh greens, but it’s still excellent, and the best sushi for the price in Vancouver.
Really a 3.5 stars. This used to easily be my favorite sushi place in Van. Now it’s just fine. The nigiri is a fraction the size of what they used to be. I used to look so forward to these giant slabs of fish, now it’s puny pieces. Maybe it’s new management. Fish is fresh, but no longer a place to go out of your way for. Also, I was disappointed that it is still take out only.
I always see rave reviews of Toshi Sushi. We finally tried it and it was good and fresh, but not sure if it lived up to the hype. I would definitely give it another try
This place is amazing. Look at that sashimi! My god. I will be back every time I need sushi.
I love this place! I've been here a couple of times and their sushi never disappoints. It's not your typical Korean-run sushi joint. Everything on their menu is simple and when I mean simple, I mean their rolls aren't anything fancy with the extra sauces on top. They have the basic rolls and Toshi is able to take that and make it taste good with the quality, and you can tell they put extra care and effort into making their rolls. This is what REAL sushi is supposed to look and taste like. I always get the spicy combo (spicy scallop + spicy tuna) and it is like CRACK. Fish is always fresh here and I hope this place stays around for a long time. 5/5 stars!PS: The miso eggplant is a MUST try!!
Good food and service, the sashimi was excellent. Very small place and packed full of people, it can be uncomfortable for most ppl.
One of only 2 sushi places I go to. Their food is so bomb! Won't dissapoint you.

Such kind and friendly people who work at Toshi. I have been in the past and the food is fresh and well made. Today I was sourcing places that were able to take a larger order and the person I spoke to on the phone was very attentive and flexible. They did their best to accommodate and followed up on our request. Such a wonderful experience.
