From the image I thought it was a steak style but it turned out to be a beef loin strip style Katsu burger.Price is high in terms of the size.Chief double confirmed with me that the beef Katsu is raw when ordered and I accepted it. I would say they must be super confident to use their beef loin strip beef when it’s raw in terms of hygiene)The taste is good, tonkotsu sauce and mustard sauce is just at the right spot.Considering the price, I would say it’s not that worth cause it’s just a sandwich.(Edited-> I said it was ground meat but the owner said it’s beef loin strip, updated)
I started queuing up at 12:00 and up till now, i.e. 3:05pm, I am still waiting for our food! I don’t know why they still continue accepting order even they are not available to deal with such amount of orders! More than 3 hours, I am still waiting my food! And the food is pricey too? @VanDusen
Great place to get your Katsu on the go. Though I prefer the traditional setting, Katsu sandwiches seem to work for the most part. Nicely packed with pork and cabbage, generous amount of sauce made for a nice light lunch. The price per sandwich was steep and would be a better value if they made it a combo that included fries in my opinion. Would recommend if looking for a change from your usual sandwiches or burgers.
I’m grumpy today. Air is too cold, my fitness watch is low on battery, I have the wrong shoes on, my pace is too slow and my partner stopped at some stupid food truck. Life is bad, and I’m neither hungry nor feel like trying new things.I bite into a Ton-Katsu. Wow. It is just brilliant. Breaded thick soft pork, shredded cabbage, mayonnaise, ton-katsu sauce. Simple and amazingly good.It actually made my day. I enjoy that it’s not raining. I appreciate my partner stopping at the food truck. My run is still lackluster, but my attitude improved 350%.Thanks guys, keep coming back to the Seawall, please
Disappointed. I really thought for $15 you could get something more decent. Beef is over-cooked which doesn't look like their menu photo. And it's minced beef instead of steak. Bread is just plain white bread from T&T I saw the guy pull them out of the bag. Too much horseradish made me teared up. Not worth the price at all.
Located just outside Vancouver City Centre Station, this food truck offers a bunch of different Katsu Sando options. I ordered the Gyu-Katsu (strip-loin beef) and Ton-Katsu (pork). The Gyu-Katsu was super juicy delicious. It’s savoury beef really complemented the toasted sweet bread. Oh and watch out for that wasabi-mayo, a couple bites really caught me off guard ?. The Ton-Katsu was my favourite! Such a lovely medley of textures and flavours. My only complaint is that I feel like their bread is a bit thin compared to other many Katsu Sandos I’ve seen. Also I will say for the quantity of food, it’s a BIT heavily priced at roughly $15 dollars sandwich. Moreover, still extremely delicious and wonderful quick snack/light lunch to grab if you are visiting downtown Vancouver!
The taste and style are authentic Japanese cutlet sandwiches‼︎
I couldn’t help but feel like I was eating raw beef between two pieces of bread. The flavours were delicious and the sauce was really nice, but the consistency of the beef was that of a raw, warm steak. In view of personal preference, it was not for me. I will however, go back and try the chicken katsu sandwich!
Very tasty Japanese sandwiches! All of them are very good. Their beef sandwich is very unique. Our all time favorite is their fish sandwich! The egg and cabbage salad they use in their sandwich is very delicious.
This is a great food truck serving Japanese sandwiches or sandos. You will have to wait a bit for them to prepare so be aware that you won't get the food instantly. I tried the pork and also the shrimp. The Ebi (shrimp) sando was so perfect and soft. As for the pork I was not really a fan of the mustard sauce but that is just a preference. The bread was toasted perfectly. The prices are a bit on the high end but in saying that they are using premium ingredients. If you want to try something unique and delicious this is the choice to make. I don't believe they accept cash at the time we ordered, debit and credit only.
