Like the vibe of this cafe, nice decorations, with smooth background music. The matcha was good. My son likes his ice latte. We also had the cherries and pistachios mousse cake, it was pretty good too.
Best cakes, best sandwiches, best hot chocolate, best pastries! ?
This place always gets so busy! And no wonder. All the pastries we've had were amazing. But my all time repeated nimber 1 has to be the double baked almond croissant. In a span of 1 hour we saw nearly 3 sheets getting cleared out. It was also nice to see the famed Thomas Haas himself interacting with what looked like a regulars from the neighbourhood.
Highly recommend. Cute little shop. After visiting, I heard the double baked almond is a must try. Will try that next time! We went on a weekend right before Valentine’s weekend so the shop was full of Valentine specials. We tried three cake slices. Exotic cheesecake was recommended and it was very tasty. Crispy chocolate raspberry was the best! Chocolate pecan was so-so.Pricing was really reasonable too when comparing against Thierry in Vancouver downtown. I would visit here more often now for sure!Sadly they close on Sundays. To dear Thomas Haas management - you gotta open on Sunday!
Highly recommend the double baked almond croissant! So delicious but they sell out fast. Be prepared to wait in line and be in a busy cafe. There are always A LOT of people in the space
Got double baked croissant, which is recommended by people on social medias. The taste is good, feels like a croissant cookie. Chocolate inside the croissant is not too sweet. If you wouldn’t like chocolate as me, you may go with regular almond croissant.Bought another hazelnut almond dessert, the taste is just normal.
Best hot chocolate ever!! They have four kinds. Dark (regular), extra dark, Aztec (dark chocolate with spice), and kids (milk chocolate). It's funny that if you want milk chocolate, you have to ask for a kid's drink. Shaming us milk chocolate enjoyers? ? Just kidding. A great place for a warm fall/winter treat :)
Very delicious croissants. Strong coffee
The pastries are good as always. Love their chocolates too. It’s a weekday morning around 10am and the place was packed. Did not seem to have much COVID distancing in store though.
Delicious pastries but the customer flow management badly needs redesigning, which is probably unlikely given the small space, but this business has outgrown its location. People are constantly shuffling past the crowded area by the pastries trying to get their coffee and if you just want a quick grab and go sandwich or croissant, forget it. It takes 15-20 min while you wait for people to ask a hundred questions about all the cakes and pastries. I have a love (for the food) / hate (for the experience) relationship with the place and usually just walk away when it’s too crowded.
