The beers are average, the burgers were below average. The onion rings were a disaster. The only good thing about this place is probably the arcade.
I go here often as it’s on my way home but unfortunately nothing here is consistent. Chicken is sometimes great and sometimes super dry, sometimes batter is falling apart. service is sometimes great and then sometimes not at all. Ps their salt and pepper tastes like lemon pepper. Sometimes they Cook their burger right and sometimes it’s pink. Don’t go in expecting for things to be great. Go in hoping their great this time. Please train staff better to be consistent so you can take the guessing out of it.
What a fun place. Wonderful staff, super cool pinball machines - the Stranger Things one was my favourite by far. If you go on a Tuesday you can catch the IQ2000 Trivia which is nothing less than awesome. Highly recommended
We had high hopes of sitting down to a couple of pints and a great burger. The pints were fine, service was good but the food was terrible. Our food was ready within 5-7 minutes of ordering (very suspect to have a fresh burger cooked in that time). The burgers were small, somewhere between a proper burger and a slider, they had no flavour (we weren’t even sure they were beef), and the buns were soft and white like the cheapest loaf of bread you can buy. Absolutely nothing to them. The onion rings were super greasy, to the point were the oil was pooling in the paper bowl they came in. The only thing decent were the fries. Finally, all of the food was served in disposable, food service packaging - the burgers were in a paper/foil sleeve, the onion rings and fries were in wax paper bowls, and all of it served on a cafeteria tray. Not great environmental stewardship. As a supposed sports bar, they have ample TV‘s and screens, but what was annoying was they put on music between periods (Stanley Cup playoffs). This is when true sports fans want to hear the commentary on the period. If you want an experience in a place catering to the under-30 crowd that serves average food at best, then this is the place for you.If not, you’re best to move along. ???
The American has a dozen or so great pinball tables including some heavy hitters like Medieval Madness, Attack from Mars, and Godzilla. The place is large, so finding some space for a small group isn't too tough. They also hold a weekly trivia night. Every time I leave the place, I feel like I've had a good time.
Dropped in here on a friend’s recommendation to try out their fried chicken sandwich. Very crispy and tasty sandwiches, we preferred the “Always Sunday” Sando to the “Buffalo hot” sando which was a little too saucey for our liking. Lot of large tvs around and there was an arcade area as well. Friendly waiter and a nice place to hang out as a big group.
Food was great! Ordered the DL burger and it was a hand made patty - hard to find these days - delicious!Games were a bit pricy but I guess that's inflation, food and drinks were reasonable!Would recommend for a group of friends!
Good bar that has an impressive 9 pinball machines. They are mostly Stern machines though with a couple of classics for us older players: Netflix Stranger Things, Attack From Mars, Medieval Madness, Rick and Morty, Elvira's House of Horrors, Godzilla ゴジラ, Jurassic Park (Stern), Star Wars Mandalorian, Rush.Arcade machines include Street Fighter 2 Turbo Hyperfighting $1 for 2 plays although you can blow both credits immediately for multiplayer. The newest arcade machines here are naturally from the American company Raw Thrills and they are Jurassic Park Arcade and the omnipresent Big Buck HD Wild.If you like racing, they have 2 seats for Mario Kart Arcade GP.
Great burgers, plus they have a Mario Kart 2 player arcade!!
Great food and snacks! Service was friendly and the drinks were good. They also have Downlow chicken burgers, which I recommend. Came here for trivia and it was a fun organized event.
