The place was super busy on Friday evening around 7pm. The staff didn’t greet us for about 5-8mins while we were waiting to ask for a table. Got the bar seating in about 15mins. The food was served after another 10mins or so as it was really busy. the crispy chicken burrito bowl was delicious but the bowl it was served in was so smalllll that it was really hard to dig the rice through it. Quite a good collection of drinks, there’s cauliflower option for vegan/vegetarian eaters. The hostess never really checked on us after serving food. The place seemed super busy with take out orders too, wouldn’t recommend going if you’re really hungry and can’t wait! There’s paid parking on the street.
I had a terrible experience at this location. I understand not all restaurants follow the policy where your whole party has to be present in order to be seated, but when that policy isn't in place it can be a little frustrating. I arrived with my friend right after another person had arrived and they requested a seat for two. Only half of the party was there but he was seated while he waited for his friend. Me and my friend had to wait 15 minutes for a table and by the time we got our table, that person who was ahead of us was still waiting for their friend. We then got our table and made our order and when my food arrived I noticed it was made very sloppy compared to my friends order and normally they give you a little bit of lime to go with your tacos but I didn't get any lime. My friend however got a few slices of lime and I was able to take some from him. The server who brought my food too was quite rude and abrupt. The food itself was still tasty but my experience was not as great as it has been at other locations. I think in the future I would make the effort to go to a different location despite this one being closer to home.
I generally love Tacofino, I've ordered from the Kits, Gastown and Hastings locations multiple times. The Hastings location is easily the worst, it's so inconsistent. We made an order last night which included three fish tacos and fish "nuggies" (kids meal). The "fish" was 90% over-fried batter, my kids' nuggies were literally balls of hard batter sopping in oil. I think we must've been one of the last orders for the night and they gave us the leftover fish that was bound for the trash. I won't be ordering from here again.
Ordered take out - $20 nacho plate was literally a plate of grocery store taco chips with a bit of cheese on it. No peppers, no beans, no sour cream and they forgot the guac. Also the tater tots was literally like six tater tots. When I called in about it, having just spent $80 on dinner for my family, and still being hungry afterwards, they didn't seem too concerned that I was choked. Told me it would take 3-5 days to get a refund for the $5 guac (I was trying to get SOMETHING back), and didn't offer me anything when I said I would not be back. She just said "Ok! have a good night!". Unbelievable service. Terrible food. Will not be back. Not that they care at all, obviously.
Food was good. Dining experience was okay, service was not that great.Food : 3/5Service : 1/5Ambiance: 3/5They weren't clear on where to order, if we wanted to drink more than one drink we had to leave a card. Waitress waited 5 mins before talking to us.If you are only taking orders at the bar, it should be indicated and there should be explications. Above that the Waitress kept placing orders for the porc tacos after us and the kitchen had to come and talk to 2 tables, to say that there wasn't anymore. I thing the manger has to review the procedures and staff training.
First time eating there food was very good. Had three different tacos pork Al pastor, soft and crunchy chorizo and tuna. All were delicious the tuna was of good quality but seaweed was a little overpowering, would order it on the side and garnish to taste
Wow! This is place is awesome! I had great service and even better food. The chocolate diablo cookie is a must have!
Very good fish tacos and burritos. Tried the tuna taco and the fish burrito, both were very tasty, will have to go back for dinner and try some of the other options.
Went here for date night with my husband, we ordered a couple cocktails and some assorted tacos. The food was alright, the cocktails were good.. minus one star because we found an entire pepper stem in a taco that had passed by disguising itself as beef. But again, I’m not even that upset about it, that just tells me they use great whole ingredients, but it was a really big stem..I regret not taking a photo.I would still recommend this place though
Very friendly service and good food. We stopped by for a quick bite to eat as we were driving by.It's a little hard to spot off the street.
