We wanted to try this modern take on sushi. The menu did offer items not found at the usual sushi places. Polite, professional service. Kept our tea and water glasses full. Our spicy chicken karage, Voltex roll and Rocky mountain roll were all well prepared and artfully presented. A clean, safe dining. experience.
Phenomenal sushi rolls, great service. Only edged out by our local Portland favorite Saburo for the sashimi.
The prawn tempura is a MUST. Perfectly fried, crispy to perfection!Staff is friendly, good is tasty, resos are recommended. A hot spot!
This restaurant serves fabulous sushi! We arrived on a Sunday night and we were greeted warmly and shown to a lovely table. We ordered assorted tempura, chicken udon and two large rolls - the specialist Canuck Roll and the Rocky Mountain roll. The restaurant is impeccably clean, casual and has quite a lot of seating. Three sushi chefs were out front making the food quickly and with organised precision. The kitchen at the back also looked scrupulously clean and all protocols were followed. The tempura arrived and the prawns were fresh, crispy and flavourful. Tempura batter was excellent but there was no carrot or zucchini, mostly butternut squash. Please add a greater variety of vegetables. The broccoli tempura was not a good texture. The chicken udon was adequate, noodles a good texture, broth uneventful and chicken was bland and chewy. It was piping hot and plentiful which is nice on a snowy night. The stars of the show are the specialist rolls (10 pieces). They were crazy delicious!!! Punched you with umami flavours, pings of seafood, creamy avocado, crisp prawn and fully loaded to the gills with crab. Absolutely outstanding. We fought with clattering chopsticks to mop up every last crumb and had to order two more to satisfy our newly discovered craving. The additional rolls arrived quickly and were just as good. They vanished in seconds and were wonderful. We are still dreaming of them and can’t wait to go back! After the meal we thanked the chefs personally for a delicious meal. They smiled behind their masks and kindly nodded their appreciation. It’s really hard work to make sushi so quickly and beautifully. The rolls were a work of art. Highly recommended!
It is a great place. Very nice sushi. I went at noon and they had a menu (mini soup, mini salad, 8 rolls, 3 sashimi, 4 tempura) , not too expensive and really filling. We ate 2 people and spent 44 CAD
We came to this place for a Sunday lunch. The ambience was really good . They have good lunch special menu at affordable price. We tried their chicken teriyaki teishoku platter which comes with chicken teriyaki, californiaroll, one agedashi tofu, salads, tempura , miso soup and ebi sunomono priced at 15.95$. We also got a classic dynamite roll at ~6$. The food was amazing and good enough for 2 people. I will try to visit this place again in future for trying the other cuisines.
WOW. Visiting from Toronto and some friends and I decided to check out this spot based on reviews and proximity to our Airbnb. We sat down and the menu blew us away. We got the Nova Special Bento and got 1 other roll on the side, which I shared with my wife. It is MORE than enough to share for 2 people. The portions, variety of sushi, and service were SO amazing. We will definitely be back, thank you so much!!! Ps. Get the matcha ice cream no matter how full you are :) it’s also good for two, thanks me later!
We just randomly picked a sushi place to go on West 4th Ave. Surprised my family for their food and service. The place is clean, neat and tables distance is just right. I have ordered the chef's special 'Tokyo ' and a lunch set. They will included couple combinations of food and that is great. Sashimi was fresh and every single dish made so good. It costs us $15/ head before tax and it's a reasonable price. My little one is very picky on food and he asked me to come again even when we still in the restaurant. I will definitely come back.***I have eaten some of them before I took the pictures.
Just walked in because it was open and we wanted sushi. What a pleasant surprise! Their Nova Roll is very good, service was fantastic, rest of the food was superb. Sashimi was nice and snappy, 5/5!
Sashimi and sushi rolls were so good! Fish was fresh. Rolls were large but not too large and well filled. We had to ask for tea refills a few times but otherwise service was good.
