Ajisai sushi bar is truly a local gem!! I was in a dilemma on whether I should keep this to myself or share with public but after covid so many of my fave restaurants have since become memories. So, support local communities! This is a boutique sushi bar, not a huge place. They serve quality seafood and the lady at the front is extremely friendly. Coupling the above points, this place is extremely busy. If you just want to indulge in premium quality nigiris, don't mind taking out, order ahead. Beside you get 5% discount. ??Now, I haven't tried all the menu items but the ones I have tried were "omakase" and "special assorted sushi". They were absolutely amazing.I especially enjoyed the unagi nigiri, charred just enough to get the maximum aroma and satisfaction. Even their tamago, was flawless. Juicy with the right balance of saltiness/sweetness. Highly recommend. ??
An hour long wait to get seated and then another hour long wait for sporadic amounts of food. That’s two whole hours before I got any food in front of me. I think my tea got refilled 5 times before the food actually came. The food was not bad, but it was quite generic and you can definitely get that flavour somewhere else and not have to wait that long or pay as much. Quite pricey for the amount of food served. Would not come again.
The best sushi lunch in Vancouver so far. We got a LUNCH SPECIAL for 15 dollars to take away. It consisted of classic BC roll, excellent fresh tuna and salmon sashimi, wonderful INARI - ZUSHI (which we love since our visit to Japan, it is fried tofu skin which enwraps rice, so delicious!), pressed mackerel SABA sushi and TAMAGOYAKI (rolled sweetish fried egg). Everything was delicious. We shall be definitely back!!!THANK YOU!!!!
Good sushi but you have to call to order to takeout even when you’re right there lol. Would definitely come back to try the other items as it was a great nofrills in and out spot.
Good place to try a variety of seasonal fresh sushi. Some are quite expensive but ordinary meals are also available.
Ordered a Toro Taku roll, ana Q roll, Pacific combo, assorted sushi combo and saba shiso roll. Took around 30 minutes for my order to be ready for pickup. Ajisai is one of my favourite sushi spots in Vancouver. Their sushi is reasonably priced and the sushi is always pretty fresh. Would definitely recommend their assorted sushi combo as you get a little bit of everything. They do the basic rolls the best. Simplicity at its finest. They so have daily specials so keep yourself updated on their instagram. Keep in mind, currently they are only doing takeout.
Excellent sushi for the price. Omakase and Special assorted sushi are both excellent. I find Special assorted sushi is a very good value for the price.
Lovely staff person helped me and my octogenarian friend with our vaccine cards and getting seated. Really sweet.
Fish was extremely fresh. Just a bit too much wasabi in the nigiri for my liking. Also found it strange that I had to call to place my order, despite standing right outside of the restaurant.
Fresh and extremely delicious. Generous portions at a great price. Individually packaged items for takeout and quality was maintained for the trip home. 5% off if you call 2 hours ahead.
