A few months ago I brought my friends here. They are exchange students and I wanted to show them an important part, in my opinion, of Vancouver culture which is delicious authentic Chinese food. They are both vegetarian/vegan so I found this place. We all adored the food and the atmosphere. The staff were so kind to us even though we accidentally stayed late. They gave us delicious vegan cookies after dinner. Each dish we chose was beyond delicious. It’s a pretty far commute for me but I really want to return because this place is so delicious. I also am eager to try their vegetarian dim sum.
Dim Sum Veggie only. Nice , the eggplant dim sum was delish ! No Dan Tan, but very nice portions. Busy so get there at opening time 11.30am or book :)

Sun Bo KongI thought from the outside that it’s not popular, but as soon as I walked in I realized this is super popular ??Today was Chinese Lunch for me ???They have 12-3pm Dim Sum menu and that’s one of the reasons I am here! It’s fully vegetarian with mostly vegan options ?The lunch special is special because og their Dim Sum ? menu ? I had some Lily Bulb mushroom steamed dumplings ? to start offThe other ones where sold out already! Unfortunately because of that they arrived straight after the main instead of in advance. Served freshly and with mushroms and some crunchy veg in as well! Very nice but could have been seasoned a bit more ? As main I had the Bean Curd Rolls with Black Bean Sauce. It was nice, but could have been a bit stronger in the taste!They serve tea (1.25$) and fill it up per person ?
The quick service is complemented by delicious cuisine. From tea to dumplings, buns to turnip cake, the dim sum here is exquisite. The classics are well-executed—all at an extremely reasonable price.We ordered nine dishes between two people (and left full as ever!)

The best vegan and vegetarian Chinese food I have ever tasted. I forgot this place! (as I don’t normally live here.) Last time I visited was 2007 when it was a much more simpler world, and was amazed then. The menu is like wow so much to try! Had the wonderful fortune to also meet the owner, who actually served me. What a delight, Ken Chau. Expert veg restaurateur and lovely human. They even do dim sum from 12-3pm. Cool. Enjoy life! It’s far too short. And take your friends. ?
I came to Sun Bo Kong on the recommendation of a few people I know who gave this restaurant rave reviews. I was not disappointed!! I ordered a stiry fry vermicelli dish, eggplant and tofu pot, and their best seller: fried oyster mushroom with chilli. Just like everyone says, the deep fried oyster mushroom is AMAZING!! The food came out hot and freshly made, perfectly seasoned. The service was really good too. Very nice servers and I really appreciated how attentive they were. 10/10 absolutely coming back here and bringing my friends and family too!
My mother and I go here once in a while because she loves trying vegetarian food.I am not someone who likes vegetarian dishes that just take regular meat dishes and take out the meat. This place has both kinds of dishes: some with just veggies thrown together like their curry, and some with meat-like texture like their black pepper beef and bean curd (which is my fav dish)This time we tried their dimsum.Black bean sauce fried bean curd - pretty pricey as it was 17.95 for a dish but it tastes great.Deep fried seaweed wrapped enoki - it has carrots and fake ham in there too. Taste is good and I really like their batter as well.Tapioca pudding - full of tapioca and has red bean paste in the middle. Freshly baked. Delicious.Siu mai - is a no for me. Made of fake ham?
