We had the Hot pot which was great.. we also tried the seafood pancake and steak, which were a bit on the fatty side.. but still had decent flavor.Tried some Korean sake too, which was somewhat sweet and packed a kick.Definitely worth a visit, staff we also friendly
If you're looking for real Korean food, stay away from this restaurant. This meal was the worst Korean food I had in Vancouver. Main dishes were bland but banchan were heavily salted. The squid in the squid bulgogi was flavorless but the sauce was really sweet, which is odd since it's supposed to be a savory dish. I think the restaurant uses their "topokki" sauce to make the squid bulgogi. For a dish costing $20.95 at a casual restaurant, the flavor and portion was just ridiculous, considering they probably use frozen, pre-processed squid.Gamjatang meat was bland as well and could've been softer. Both dishes lacked veggies.Another thing was that when ordering, the server told us our order contains 3 rice, but we were only served 2 bowls. At the end of our meal, we asked the lady in jacket (likely manager) for a takeout container along with the third bowl and she hesitantly asked "what rice?" before acknowledging our request. When two people are dining and their order includes 3 rice, shouldn't they still serve 3 rice or at least ask the customers? #shadySuch a disappointing experience for a highly-rated restaurant, yet again..
I ordered from here as my celebration grad meal. Was it worth it? Hmm yeah but I wouldn’t be in a hurry to try this place again. There portion sizes are good for some dishes (the Kkan Pung Gi, deep fried chicken) but also not so great but average for other dishes like the LA Galbi (you can find better deals elsewhere). The Sun Leong Tang even after adding in all the salt and pepper they gave me I had to add in my own spices to liven it up! And read the items of the dish carefully cuz I thought I’d be getting some ox tail meat in there but to my disappointment only bulgogi slices where in there. But it is as it’s described in the menu. So they got me!
Very decent Korean food. Good service. They don’t take reservations. Good partitions between tables. A bit pricey for the amount served, though. Definitely, don’t get the seafood pancake. To be fair, I’ve found that not many Korean restaurants can master a crispy, non-mushy pancake.
Stopped in here for lunch the other day, needed something hearty for moving furniture all day and this Korean cuisine did the trick! I had the chicken combo which was absolutely perfect with high quality fresh chicken and an excellent robust and not too sweet flavor. The Mandoo dumplings were quite good and juicy too. Price point seems a wee bit high, and the booth seats maybe from a converted past restaurant are worn and torn. The staff very nice and positive. They even put up a hand written happy Family Day sign up for everyone.
My favorite restaurant in Vancouver. Every dish I’ve ever tried has been flavorful and in huge portions. In addition to this, they offer unlimited sides! They have a great variety of items and several combo options if you’re looking to sample several dishes. Beyond the food, the service is top notch and the restaurant is very clean and well maintained.
Positive: easy to find, food is great, service is great. Priced on the inexpensive side.Neg: limited dishes available. Most likely the more popular ones are left on their menu.Ribs we ordered came out after we finished our meal...but still delicious.Paid parking required if you want to parked closed by.Food for thought: enjoyed it but will try other restaurants before returning.
A good Korean restaurant, with good options of menu at good price. They offer full course dinner for 2, 3 or 4 persons, which are worthed, at good quite large portions. They give to go box if we cannot finish all of the food, so we can bring them home. They also give some free side dishes.
We ordered the pork bulgogi lunch combo and beef tofu soup. The soup was good but the bulgogi was drowning in sauce and more than half of it was onions. There were maybe 5 pieces of pork? It was really disappointing as the place is highly rated. I would recommend sticking to the regular menu and not the lunch menu. The service is ok. The restaurant was not busy but the servers were mostly busy with take out orders.
Went here because of the ratings and was really disappointed. First their staff at the desk wasn’t friendly. Second, their food are way TOO overpriced for the portions and quality they give you. The portions are SO small and also oily. 1 dish would cost at least $20 when you can order the same thing at different Korean restaurants for at least $15 with better and bigger portions. For the price you pay, you would at least expect something to be better than other Korean restaurants, but nope! Definitely, will not come back again.
