Just ordered online, on Uber eats, and quite disappointed …The ingredients were for most of them « big », not cut in pieces, which is not convenient for a salad … The feta was nothing but a big block, which doesn’t seem delicious, and even the cherry tomatoes could have been cut in pieces.Tuna was also a block, céleri was big pieces (which didn’t make it appealing, I actually didn’t eat them), even cucumber could have been cut smaller.Anyway ! The lemon juice was okay, and the delivery was on time.Oh and also, after seeing other people pictures, I feel like I could have had fruits on my salads, which I would have loooved, but didn’t see this option online … too bad :/But in other ways, really disappointed on my lunch today !
A beautiful stroll through Yaletown and arriving at this cozy little salad bar family owned business and I was surprised to find how much it offered.First few things that I got excited about was the fact that it's not your usual salad bar. It has items that you normally don't find in general salad bars such as pomegranate seeds, meatballs, bulgogi, kimchi and red onion....all my favourites! The service is the warm, friendly, personal service you'd expect from a family run business and the prices are quite reasonable.I love the fact that they don't put themselves in a box (no pun intended). With most salad bars you wouldn't find meat and in this day and age where being offended is in style a lot of salad bars refuse to serve anything other than veggies just so they don't offend vegetarians walking into a salad bar.I loved the bulgogi....well seasoned and really tasty and the meatballs looked wonderful and will try them next time. I regularly buy watermelon chunks from grocery stores, but theirs is better priced, more plenty and sweeter.I was there just before the lunch rush which was around 11:45 am and people were starting to come in. I had noticed that already some of the items from the bar were lacking and/or almost empty. The bulgogi, chickpeas and lettuce were almost gone and don't think it would've survived a massive lunch influx, which seemed was on its way.The space is quite tight and it can get busy with people at times stepping over one another, but if you don't mind that, this place is worth checking out.
Wonderful place, just what we were looking for. The whole family each made their own custom container out of a multitude of fresh ingredients. Very kind and friendly staff. We'll be returning the next time we're in town. Thanks for the oranges, they were delicious!
Holy smoke.. how much money did I just spend on a salad? 20 bucks seeks crazy steep to say I packed a lot of leaves and light-weighing vegetables.Albeit very fresh, a great selection and variety iv had better tasting and comparable portions at the same value for a fully prepared salad elsewhere to be honest. Each item for the Build Your Own Salad is the same price and around $2.83 per 100grams so be careful when stuffing those boxes unlike me! I visited this place after seeing crazy good Uber Eats reviews, but think this is actually better on UE since you pay a fixed amount for a specific amount of salad ingredients in hindsight.Staff are super friendly, very kind, approachable and helpful. Some additional hot sauces for condiments would be awesome.Support local businesses!
Love the selection they have! So happy to have found this place. Everything was fresh and delicious. For the location and variety, their prices are very reasonable. It's a small family-run operation that I'll be happy to regularly support.
Great little shop. Got a fresh salad from the salad bar, some produce, and groceries. The owner was super friendly and the store was clean and organized. This place is an asset to the neighborhood and I'll definitely be back.
Good fresh ingredients, salad was delicious. Very limited seating inside, some very limited seating outside. This area is busy and dingy, so not nice to sit down to eat, more of a takeout place. Prices are higher. Washroom is only for customers and they're very protective of it, a big deal to use it. Service could be better.
Great value, really well-curated salad ingredients, good place to grab essential groceries.
Expired vegetables, nice staff, $0.5 paper bags when it's $0.15$ everywhere else, smelly chicken breast , rotten mushrooms, and a smart Tiger protecting the business! Some reviewers mentioned Coffee, which is weird because they don't serve Coffee in Smithe Salad, probably a paid review or the reviewer was from Korea.Overall I'm going to remove another star because corruption in Canada is a disease that we have to deal with along with the other ones. We need to keep our society safe.Oh BTW, broken and rotten eggs.
This store is seriously a neighborhood gem. Tiger and his staff are always so friendly and his produce are fresh and very well priced. Highly recommended!!
