Great coffee and pastries. Outdoor seating available!
I really wanted to like this place. On first impression, it looks hip, trendy and well....what's better than a bakery/coffee shop...right?Bakery/Coffee shop = bread, pastries and coffee....all three failed in this place. The service was great. They were friendly, helpful, attentive and professional. The atmosphere was also nice.I ordered the Breakfast sandwich and the coconut cake and coffee. The coffee was so sour that it actually gave me a lemon face first thing in the morning and it was lukewarm. The breakfast croissant was burnt and very very oily and the egg inside was unseasoned and tasted like plastic (see pic.) I took it to the counter and the manager offered to replace it and it wasn't any better the second time and when I told her about it, she was very sorry and actually told me that they are pre-made....well it tasted like it ....not fresh. Disappointing in a bakery! I mean it's a bakery...you know....you bake...no?!The coconut cake was also not fresh and tasted refrigerated..... :(We left and went to Starbucks and had our coffee and croissant there. :|
Overpriced pastries .. way overpriced .. tiny dehydrated almond croissants close to 7 and horrid shriveled banana “bread” ..
Great coffee, super yummy pastries, and very cute interior. Was busy when we went Saturday around 10:30 but the staff helped us find a place to sit.
Best butter croissants ever. (You should get their jam too.) We went back every morning during our stay in Vancouver. Definitely going back next time.
I'm not much of a coffee buff. I can appreciate a good bean, but I'm not too high maintenance. I can appreciate a full spectrum, from freeze-dried instant stuff to a high quality, freshly ground, meticulously brewed cup. I think there's a time and a place for everything, from a shot of espresso to a syrup-laden iced monstrosity. My one qualm with Canada is the lack of availability of my go-to from back home: the flat white. I won't go into technicalities as I'd be out of my depth, but I think the general idea is a very small, strong coffee, with silky steamed milk. I suppose it's not too far off a latte, but they're always just a little too big. You could emulate the strength by doubling up on shots, but the charm in in the size. The was the little cup fits perfectly in the hand.I popped in here after an early-morning workout, and could tell by the vibe of the place that they were putting their coffees in some seriously small cups. You could complain that it's a real overpriced-glamourous-downtown-coffee-shop trope, but if you're looking for sheer volume, these are not the kind of places you could be looking. "A small oat latte, please", I said to the fella behind the counter, trying to contain the hope and excitement beginning to bubble up in the pit of my stomach. Worth noting that they all look like they're very cool in there, which I imagine would be intimidating if you were uncool. I couldn't tell ya.Out the door I went with the tiniest paper cup in hand, into the rain. In between scrambling with my two bags and half-broken umbrella, I took a sip. Wow. It was like going back in time. It was silky, strong, the perfect temperature. I sat down on a cold step on the side of the street and drank the whole thing with a cigarette. People were looking at me like I was insane, but I paid them no mind. I had the whole thing gone in about 4 minutes flat. I am sitting at my desk in work, basking in the afterglow of it all. Thank you for giving me a taste of home - I can't wait to drink so many that I can take them for granted again, just like before.
First of all, I love the branding and look of the store - very much appreciated! Most importantly though - great pastries, sweets, and breads! My boyfriend and I got the regular croissant, an almond croissant, and a chocolate cake. All pretty great - I’d say I would skip out on the chocolate cake next time though - very rich and dense, but still great. I’d love to come back and try their croissant donuts next time! Can’t wait.
The almond croissant was excellent, but the croissant donut with pistachio cream filling was not good. No really texture and the cream didn’t taste nice at all. Service was friendly and I would return to have the almond croissant again and try some of their other goods. It’s a pretty wide selection.
Love this place, all the pastries I've tried tasted amazing. Coffee is good, staff is very nice, always smiling, helpful. It's usually quite busy so that's also a sign of how good the food is.
I ordered a coffee, almond croissant and a scone to go. They tasted amazing and so perfect with coffee. Service was good and I can't wait to try other pastries or desserts!
