For a superstore type of place it feels kinda cozy. Probably it's the color palette. I do enjoy a lot their prepared food-to-go selection. There's a tiny Starbucks inside (doesn't really affect much the whole groceries experience but I thought it is worth mentioning).
Do not buy cut watermelon at Safeway. I was throwing up and had diarrhea all night. When I called the manager, Steve, he doubted me, saying we sold hundreds yesterday. I reported it to Vancouver Coastal Health. I hope that they investigate the food safety practices at this Safeway.
Decent place for most grocery requirements. Meat options did not live up to the expectation.
There is an Indo-Canadian guy that works in the produce section that is just down right scary. He has no manners and is rude. He always stares at me when I am going through his section. Like he is security or something. I actually have stopped shopping at this Safeway even though it is close to my home because of how uncomfortable he made me feel.Many of the other staff just socialize with each other, especially if there are two of them at the self checkout working. They will talk among themselves and not even notice if someone needs help.On another note a lot to times the fruit and vegetables are rotten. I had bouught some fruit that was mouldy and it had to be thrown out. I would recommend to avoid this Safeway
Many years ago the shop steward said to me I break your arms if you touch anything on the shelf. I said I was just checking freshness codes. Coz you guys don’t rotate. Next time. Sunshine. We’re gonna dance !!
3 times in a row over a 2-week I purchased Silk True Almond Milk (Vanilla) that was spoiled. Each time I had to travel back to Safeway Store# 4931 to exchange the product. I notified customer service each time but it looks like they did nothing about it. What a waste of time.
I'm in a wheelchair and I never have been treated so badly but people but the manager was really cool the one in the white T-shirt
I had the worst experience ordering birthday cake from there. It was my sons First bday, I ordered it 1 week back and they told it will be ready on the day at 11am. When we were there at 11 in the morning for the celebration at 5, they told they never received the order, Worst thing is they were not sorry and we had to give the suggestions and managed to get one by 3pm and it was the worst cake I have ever had.. Too sugary and sticky. Will never go to that store any more. they don't deserve a star.
This place has been renovated year ago, ? Looks so clean,shelves well organized now,,new management ..??good job,,I will come by now since just walking distance from my place,,
Great place to grocery shop. They got a good cereal section and their meat section has some good cuts usually. Their lunch special there you can't go wrong with 2 chicken legs a side and a can of PC pop for 6 dollars plus taxes. I'm full till dinner after this chicken.
