Ordered the tuna poke bowl; the dressing was a tad too spicy for my taste but it was delicious! Was seated in the covered patio during happy hour. The servers were not in a rush to get us to eat and leave. Maybe it was a weekday so it took a while for the food to arrive. We had to flag down a server to get our bill. Overall a nice relaxing place!
I was out for a walk with a friend and my two kids when we came across Romer’s Burger Bar. It looked busy and we were all hungry so we decided to stop by and put our names down on the wait list.I’m not sure if the host was high or not but he kept laughing and couldn’t even give an answer of approximately how long the wait was or any question for that matter. Any response was giggling and smirking. There were many people seated outside on the patio but when we asked to sit on the patio he said it was too cold because we had kids with us. (We were already outside for a walk and dressed appropriately)It ended up being about 45 minutes so we went back inside and when the staff saw us we caught them looking at us and whispering. Obviously they were talking about us probably not in a good way. When we were seated the service was slow but we were understanding because the place was quite busy.We ordered a vegan-ator burger, tomato basil soup, parmesan onion rings and kids sliders with fries. The vegan-ator burger and tomato basil soup were decent but the server never brought a spoon for the soup and was nowhere to be found. So we had to get up and look for a spoon ourselves. The onion rings were also okay but the kids sliders were plain with no sauces. (Any sauce was an extra cost) It was just a bun with a patty that was burnt on the outside and raw on the inside, which is not acceptable for kids.Eventually after 20 minutes went by, the server finally came to check on us.I let her know that the sliders were inedible. She offered to replace them with new ones but everybody was already done their food and were ready to go.What’s the point of going to a restaurant when you aren’t being served? Might as well eat at home.Overall the food wasn’t too bad but the service was extremely unorganized and unprofessional. My kids were still hungry when we got home! It’s a shame we won’t be coming back here because we live very close and pass by this restaurant for walks often.
Tried out the dine out Vancouver menu. The Nashville hot wings were really good, perfectly cooked chicken wing, great dry spice rub, just needs a touch of more salt. But the hot sauce combined with ranch was amazing. Their cauliflower wings weren’t bad but again the sauce was amazing. The burger was okay, patty was a bit dry but over all was pretty tasty when I added extra sauce. The berry cobbler was incredible. The berries were not overly sweet, the tartness balanced the flavour of the sweet vanilla ice cream. The drunken donuts were also very very good. Tasted like fresh mini donuts from PNE but the true star was the Kahlua Nutella chocolate sauce. Normally Nutella is very very sweet on its own but the sourness of the Kahlua liqueur balanced out the flavours and you get a nice toffee, chocolate blend. I also drizzled the chocolate sauce on top of my vanilla ice cream to add another layer of flavour. Would definitely return for the dessert.
Need long wait at front door due to not yet set up even had booking advance, lot of empty table as I saw at the time I walked in, that's unprofessional. Food quality below average, disappointed that the steak over cook with burn stain and taste bitter.
This is a great place sit near the Fraser River and have snacks and drinks with friends. The Romer's is pretty small and you are paying a little extra for the view so you should sit on the balcony. Free parking is a real plus in this area especially on a nice day.The dineout Vancouver is a crazy great deal. $30 for a three course meal during the month of January.
Great burgers, fantastic location right on the river. But they couldn't get it right. My niece ordered a sangria, she got a glass of wine. My wife ordered a plain burger with mozzarella cheese, sides of mustard, mayonnaise and avocado slices. She got a burger, but it wasn't anything like what she ordered. We sent it back, the replacement was closer, but they included lettuce, which she asked for no lettuce. It was OK, but they should take more care giving customers what they ask for. My Red Truck Burger was great. But we had to ask for napkins, none came with the food.
Our neighborhood spot for food and drinks. We have been coming here for years and the food is great, staff are friendly and location is easy to access - go for a walk afterwards and enjoy the view.Happy hour is always a fave too!
Great service. Good COVID protocols. Nice building. A little tightly arranged tables with the plenty barriers makes it a squeeze to get in to the low table seating.Salmon burger was good. The standard burger with bacon and cheese really just tasted like bread and bacon. Zero flavour to the beef patty. I think they rely on the special toppings like egg, onion rings and different sauces to give the meat any flavour. And, less importantly, Coke was very flat.
We went there with friends on Remembrance Day ( they open at 11 instead of 10 that day). Covered patio seating area with outside fireplace was great choice. You can sea water from their. It’s nice location. Menu items was a good variety but brunch is only at weekends. Staff were friendly and service was nice. Food amounts was reasonable and tasty.
Crispy fish tacos are a must-have!
