We live around the corner from this low key restaurant and even though we’ve been ordering food from Riddim&Spice for over ten years, we never get bored of the flavours. Jerk chicken, chicken or goat curry, anything and everything is tasty here. Andre the owner always say hi to the regulars and the prices are very reasonable. Always fresh, always good. Highly recommend!
Being very honest, I haven’t been to the Caribbean so i cannot speak of authenticity but, the goat curry tastes more like authentic South East Asian style goat curry than any Indian or SE Asian restaurant in Vancouver. The oxtail was succulent and to get both in a lunch combo made it an amazing deal. It’s a hole in the wall, mom and pop kind of place. The customer service was poor but the food was fantastic (otherwise for food alone 5 stars). I can imagine going here repeatedly.
Really enjoyed the chicken and beans rice the service is absolutely friendly ? ?
I go here often it's such a great place not only if the food is the bomb but the staff is super helpful and kind. And if you ever get a chance to meet the owner he's one fly guy. Been going here since I was a teenager no joke and it's been the same since you have to respect the consistency in taste. It's a staple in our community.
The ginger beer was good. The Jerk Chicken was passable, the jerk was watered down plus the rice and beans were lacking coconut. Nice design though.
Excellent flavour and friendly service. I can’t say enough good things about this spot!Definitely check out the whole menu!(There Jamaican patties are a really good snack on the run)
FYI, this place has a special from 12am till 4pm where you can get a very delicious plate of food for 6 dollars.
Call ahead to make sure of your menu choices. They make epic curried goat, but only a few days a week. They would rather serve excellent food a few days a week rather that degrade the quality of their food. If you go on the wrong day the jerseys chicken will bring tears to your eyes.
Was craving roti so we came here to try a few things. The jerk chicken was AMAZING. Best ive ever had. Soft, tender and juicy. Everything was reasonably priced and they have a lunch special too. However, this place didnt check for vaccinations and the table was wiped down with a dirty cloth that made the whole surface stink. The roti was dry and the chickpeas were hard and undercooked. There was barely any meat inside. The curry chicken was mostly bones too. Towards the end of our stay a very loud fan turned on directly on the back of my head, which was… unpleasant.Would come back here just for the jerk chicken as takeout but the dine in experience left something to be desired.
Great food, reasonable prices in this warm cozy restaurant. This place has the best chicken roti in the city!
