I thought I'd great myself tonight and go all out on a delivery for dinner. Gnocchi, tiramisu and a cocktail to wash it down.I was greeted by tiny, and I mean tiny portions. I've been to enough high end restaurants to know that if you make a small portion, the flavour better be good. Sadly, not here. The picture is of the $11 tiramisu I got, with lip balm for comparison. I got a freaking corner piece with half the bottom missing even.Never ordering from Nook again.Disappointing from all angles.
My friend and I had planned to go to Nook and walked in on a Tuesday around 5:45 with no wait. We had no idea what to expect but asked for recommendations and wow, we were impressed! We got these three items:1) rigatoni boscaiola2) mushroom pizza3) whipped ricotta crostiniThe whipped ricotta crostini is life changing and my friend and I were thoroughly impressed as each flavour balanced each other out so well - hints of sweetness and crunch, yet the black pepper and ricotta made it savoury enough! 10/10 would highly recommend getting as it is unlike any other. *chefs kiss* ????The rigatoni boscaiola was incredible as well. The pasta was cooked to perfection coupled with an amazing mushroom sauce and sundried tomatoes to complement the rigatoni. ❤️?The mushroom pizza is definitely a thinner type of pizza and we actually had to rollup or fold to eat. It was still very tasty and we were also given chilli flakes to add as well which gave it the right amount of spiciness if needed. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the pizza before we gobbled it up ?
The service on a weekend evening was very attentive. Really great - water filled, checked in about food, etc.The food and drinks itself? I felt like the quality was not there for the price point. Peach soda just tasted like diluted sparkling water. Salad is just plain greens with some shredded cheese and a plain vinaigrette dressing - not worth the price. The ricotta crostini tasted great, mix between sweet and salty, but you get a tiny piece each between 2 people for $14. With the prices they charge I expected more attention to presentation as well, which was really lacking.
I didn’t have any food here so the review is purely based on the service - and the reason being is that I never got a chance to.I came on a Wednesday night with two of my friends and the Lady told me it shouldn’t be too long of a wait. She passed us over to her colleague who was very curt. She said we’re looking at a very long wait to which I said your colleague told us different 30 seconds ago…. She immediately seemed impatient and told us that we shouldn’t expect to be seated for at least 30 minutes. The worst part is that she never called us back when we left our number. We even overheard her saying she didn’t want to help people in her section. Overall just a very unwelcoming and unfriendly experience by the staff there.
Yum! Ended up here on a Friday night and scored a table right away. There were 3 of us and we shared the Caesar salad, Chicken Liver Crostini, Rigatoni Boscaiola pasta and Margherita pizza. It was definitely a tasty and filling meal. I thoroughly enjoyed everything and can’t wait to come back and try more!
Nice place for some Italian! The gnocchi was too soft (over boiled) and the kale salad was a bit too sour for my taste (I would have personally preferred something simple like olive oil and crumbled salt). But the spaghetti special, focaccia bread, and mushroom pizza were all really good! Service was friendly and atmosphere was warm. Great for an evening with family or friends.
We have always been dine in fans of Nook...we ordered takeout tonight which was extremely disappointing. The margherita pizza had mere green shavings which were supposed to be basil...it was all dough with no toppings. Definitely not worth the $$... Had been touting how great it was to our family visiting but ended up having to apologize for the quality. Do not recommend ordering takeout...Nook you need to step up your takeout game.
Went here with some friends and had a great experience. We got a pepperoni pizza, gnocchi, and Burrata & Prosciutto. The highlight was easily the gnocchi, so good we ordered a second plate of it. Friendly staff who were happy to recommend menu items and very accommodating. Get the gnocchi!
Not impressed with the dishes. Small portions, elevated prices and not the selection I would like from an Italian Restaurant. The staff member we had was fun and attentive. Sorry but of my top 10 Italian restaurants in Vancouver, Nook doesn't get close.
Our server was really helpful and we had a great customer service. We ordered Burrata & Prosciutto, Bolognese and Mushroom pizza. Everything was tasty and food was served quickly.
