Have you ever been hungry, eating but bored while eating? My first time today.I ordered the Meatball Sandwich, and before I even started eating I knew from the look of the meatball that it was very very dry (see pic). It almost looked like it had been boiled ( I hope no Italian grandmas are reading this). The first bite, my suspicions were confirmed. They were so dry and chewy that I had to make an effort to swallow them down and I stopped after two bites and left the rest. Disappointing. What was also interesting was that there was nothing to the sandwich nearly 14 bucks later....It was just ciabatta bread, dry meatballs, kale and aioli ...that's it. Too plain. Now, if the meatballs were juicy, well seasoned simmered in cherry tomato sauce and fall-apart delicate like every meatball should be....then it would've taken centre stage and the simplicity would've just been a subservient escort. Unfortunately, that was not the case. It was just three dry meatballs on a sub. That's it.As for the service....I think there's a new breed of eateries these days. I call them "in-betweens". They are not a restaurant nor a fast food place, but something in-between. They call themselves restaurants but with fast food service.....so, kind of like a "Fastaurant".Well...tried this place. Moving on.

Update: Came in to try the Pulled Pork Banh Mi.. It was fantastic! The flavors were excellent!Unfortunately one of staff made me a little uncomfortable.. Too aggressive and pushy (Sales wise) for me. Very different from my last experience.Pochetta Sandwich is definitely what I come here for!Meat & Bread should consider making fries.Great vibes entering this restaurant, really felt welcomed!

Honestly one of the best sandwiches I've had. The bread had a very nice crisp crunch, felt very fresh. I got buffalo chicken was cooked so well. Tender, juicy, gorgeous I have no words really

I work downtown on occasion and seek out Meat & Bread when I am craving a quick simple lunch that’s warm and comforting that I can sink my teeth into. Even with lineups, they’re super quick. The porchetta (with crackling and salsa verde) is classic. The buffalo chicken with coleslaw is good. Often I’ll try their daily specials and they’re usually the best. Today it was the Porchetta Cubano and I can highly recommend it. I also quite like the space at this location. If you’re seeking a quick simple lunch, Meat & Bread is reliable. Tip: the soups they make are also generally really good too.

This location re-earned my business today. Thank you, Collin and team.I decided to give this spot another chance after an absence of over a year. I am so glad I did. Collin and the other staff members took very good care of me today. The food is fresh and tasty (that’s typical of Meat and Bread locations). The level of customer service I experienced today was excellent. Please keep up the good work y’all. I’ll visit again soon.

I am writing this review because it’s been a year and half since I worked for this company as a manager at their Broadway and Robson locations, and despite my many texts and emails my personal number has not been removed from their third party ordering systems including Uber, DoorDash, and Skip The Dishes. I, and other colleagues who have left the company continue to receive calls regarding opening hours, order confirmations and customer complaints. After initially contacting management I was told that my number would be removed but the calls have persisted and they have not responded to further requests to remove my number. Unfortunately, I am unable to simply block numbers from these companies because I need to use their services in my current job.I have been reluctant to make this issue public, but it is clear to me that I am being harassed by management as this issue continues to persist so long after I left the company despite repeatedly asking for it to be fixed. If someone reaches out to me and takes my number off their third parties I will consider taking this down, but I refused to be harassed anymore.

Word of mouth is this is the go to place for a porchetta sandwich. No doubt a meaty chiabatta sandwich with chopped crackling , could have used more salsa verde for added flavor.Being Asian, this was like eating a crispy pork sandwich, nothing really special to me. First couple of bites were nice but then the pork flavor got redundant/boring.I'd rather prefer a nice Italian sub on a baguette

Nice filling sandwich, the meat was pretty good. Could have more flavours packed into the sandwich and made it more moist.

Come in at lunch hour on my scooter with a helmet on and guy in there looks at me like I'm about to ask for change. Then I ask if I can get a sandwich. He says "sure" doesn't ask me what I want. I ask if I can add cheese to the Cajun sandwich and he looks at me and says "NOPE" I thought he was joking as there is a GRILLED CHEESE sandwich on the menu. You mean to tell me you wouldn't add cheese for a regular? What happened today? Is this how you do business. Profiling people? I was going to buy a sandwich and soup for 17.50 but you couldn't add cheese which I'd happily pay for. What a joke of an establishmentI've never seen anything like itI'd love for the owner to reach out and tell me your better than this but I'm not holding my breathe

Not much of a selection, and for the price you don’t really get much. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich and it was okay, nothing special, a bit on the dry side. There isn’t much for sides you can get either.
