I thought the fried chicken was average overall.Good for non-spicy lovers. My brother recommended the place because he cannot handle spice. And for that I'm sure if you are not a spicy individual you will love this place. If you like spicy chicken, church's and Popeyes still have this beat hands down.
I've been going to Mary browns on and off since they've opened. I can't say I'm totally satisfied. The size of food has shrunk since they opened but the price has stayed the same. The fried chicken is all right but my mother uses the same batter at home and has been for over 30 years. The service is good but not great. Parking is very limited, seating capacity is small, there is wheelchair accessible entrance.I give it 3 stars as it's halal and convenient for me. We don't have a hand full of fast food halal restaurants in Vancouver. Hapoy eating!
We had Mary Brown’s when we were in Newfoundland and we are glad to see them open in the neighbourhood. We ordered the spicy 3-piece chicken and the spicy sandwich combo and they were quite yummy. It was proper spicy but maybe a touch too salty on the seasoning. Some pieces were not crispy all the way, which was a tad disappointing. Taters on the other hand, had a nice crisp coating. The only thing is that the price for the chicken feels too expensive compared to the competition in the area (Church’s, KFC, Chicko). I’d be back for sure but I’ll probably wait for a deal next time.
The Staff are very helpful and attentive. The store is really clean and new. The chicken is just about average (slightly better than Church's chicken), but its not as good as Win-Win chicken. One of my chicken pieces was a bit dry and not juicy. The tater tots were really dry and with little to no salt. Too bad, I was really looking forward to this place having amazing friend chicken!Edit:Converting my review from a 3 to a 4 star. I think they had some issues when getting started. Well, I'm not a big fan of the chicken pieces themselves, I do find the chicken burgers to be very tasty. :):
It's not bad but there's better fried chicken around. I want into the buttermilky batter on the chicken. And the price is a good 25% more than Church's. But they have honestly the tastiest fries of any fast food joint I've been to. And great dipping sauces. But I'm judging then on their chicken and their prices mainly.
I bet you never heard of this place before. This is basically the popeyes of canada but just cheaper and better. Man you should come here though its very damnn good. Just been few days ago i came here and now i want it again. The chicken was damn good like popeyes. The burger is just better!!! The pickles chips amazing though. I love the wedges too with some batter on it! Very recommended! Cheers!
I love eating their big mary sandwich almost everyday, coz, I live nearby on main & 49. Other than that, I also love their chicken, it's fresh & crispy. It's interesting that it's a new store & providing excellent quality of food. Except that, their customer service is excellent, cashiers speak so politely.
More disappointment than excitement after a meal here. After seeing the lines and buzz around Mary Brown's we thought we'd give it a try. Ordered 2 spicy burger combos for takeout. The place was VERY packed. The cashier was extremely polite and gave great service. We had to wait 30+ minutes for our meal. We had a short drive home but the chicken and taters weren't very hot (almost lukewarm). The chicken had a decent spicy kick to it and was still moist at least. The taters were very under seasoned (or not seasoned at all). For the price, underwhelming flavors and the long wait I'd be hard pressed to come back again
The big Mary
I ordered 3 piece chicken, pop ins and pickle chips. Everything was great. Taste was to the point. Not everyone who likes the food leaves the review but I had to because the food was just great. Will definitely be returning at least once a week.
