We were at Marcello's last night. I found the design of the place very fascinating, a real Italian atmosphere! I loved the stone oven with that face relief. I loved the Henri Matisse painting and the interior. the presentation of the food was perfect. And yes, we waited a long time for the food. I also work in the kitchen and if we are late like that, our chef would really get angry with us and warn us. There is such a thing as bill time, after all. and the food didn't really taste. The fungi pizza was so bad, it's a mystery what kind of taste the pizza would have. Even a 2 $ pizza you buy from the street is delicious, and when it comes to an Italian restaurant, expectations were big. The calamari was really huge. 2-3 order seems were in 1 order. Unfortunately, it didn't make our mouths water as much as it fascinated presentation. I guess we won't go again. Clams linguine was not bad either, for some reason there was no harmony.
3rd time at Marcellos and it always blows us away. We order 2 gnocchi dishes and a pizza. The gnocchi with the meat sauce is SO good with flavor and the fluffy potatoe clouds. The 4 cheese baked gnocchi has the amazing broiled cheese which adds crunch and flavor.Service was amazing. She fixed our wobbly table and our wine glases never went low. Always on top of a refill. AMAZING service.

We went there to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I always heard about that amazing things. Maybe I went with a great expectation. We ordered wine, frittura di calamari, funghi con tartufo and al salmone pizzas. The calamari came after we received our pizzas (we ordered as appetizer) and really soggy. Al samone pizza was good and the other one not so flavourful.
I went out for dinner with a couple of friends. We weren’t greeted for over 15 minutes and the restaurant was not busy. I can accept that as I work in a restaurant myself and know the stress of serving. What is not acceptable is the blatant ignoring and trash attitude of the person that eventually talked to our party. He had the worst attitude and tone and made it clear that he was above serving us. Pretty sad considering everyone else in the restaurant was being taken care of. Food looked good..too bad service didn’t match that. Needless to say we left. 0 stars.
Such an amazing place. Love the food. Peter was our server, who did an excellent job. He was very attentive and at the same time he was giving us enough time to enjoy the food and time. We are really glad that we get to celebrate our friends birthday at this wonderful restaurant. Their pizzas are so delicious. Must try this place.
