So I end up in this little neighbourhood Italian restaurant that one could easily miss if you blinked at the wrong time - thankfully my partner knew about it and said I couldn't miss trying it out. She was VERY correct. We decided to get a few small plates and share a main to get the broadest range of foods... this led to it being a feast of Italian dishes that would not be out of place in the restaurants of any city in Italy (and I've been to my fair share plus some). By the time we were done, we'd added an extra starter and a second main, plus a dessert. The bottle ultimately recommended by the staff was an terrific pour that flexed well across the hugely different foods we ended up having. The prosciutto and melon starter was excellent (and made me happy that we listened to the server when she recommended it), the Taglierini with duck ragu was a pasta dish like I would normally only expect in a place like Treviso, and the Pistacchio semi-freddo was a great finisher. It was a thoroughly enjoyable meal, and we only ate so much because I don't know when I'll be back to have another go at the menu!
This was easily the worst service I've ever received from a restaurant at this price point, at least the waitress kept bringing us water. Food and cocktails were tasty, but not anything to write home about. I really don't understand how this restaurant can can have an overall rating of almost 5 starts. For the same price you can go and get a far better experience - just go to Ask Luigi, Osteria, Say Merci or Anna Lena. Super disappointing.
The various courses we shared were absolutely delicious, accompanied by knowledgeable service. The cocktails and wine were pretty fine too. I thought the wine prices were a tad over the top as even fairly standard (albeit good) wines wee expensive. Everyone really enjoyed our dinner - top job.
Quaint and simple. There are reviews about service but I found the service quite good. The waitress was very helpful with her knowledge of the menu. Recommend the duck Ragu pasta. The chicken was a bit of a hit and miss though
We chose the restaurant despite the negative reviews about their service. The reviews on the food were always positive and so we figured it would be worth the try.But no amount of good food can make up for their waitress (seems to be their only waitress) who seems to lack patience, is easily frustrated and probably shouldn’t be customer facing at all.We spent about 100 dollars per person and we definitely wished we had gone somewhere else. The food is very good, one dish was definitely off but they didn’t seem to think it was the dish but more us.I was expecting the warm hospitality that we’ve experienced at their sister restaurant oca pastifico but it was far from that.If your customer facing, and where you have a direct impact on your customer’s experience, some warmth is the minimum expectation.
Easily the best Italian restaurant in Vancouver. Honestly so much better than the overrated places like ask for luigi and lupo (although also good places). The ambiance is also amazing, great for dates and family dinners. Highly recommend
Absolutely the best food we've experienced for a long time. Not only in Canada. Would love to try the other restaurant in Sunshine Coast.
What a great dinner we had! The family style menu was perfect. Thank you for having us, all my team loved it. The private room for 10 people is a good option for private event. I can wait to go back.
The food is something else ?, and the drinks are perfect. Everything was awesome till a lady start touching my back and ask me to leave because another guest was waiting for the table (with an entire drink on my hand), however I’d definitely come back just for the food.
Really good and authentic italian restaurant , absolutely worth the visit
