This place was amazing. I realized I had to make a reservation for Sat lunch and decided to wait instead of finding another qualified restaurant. The lady who told me she would give me a call as soon as a table for four gets open and she did not forget about calling and appreciated/apologized me for waiting. The foods and their service were even better. You guys made me my day as it was the perfect lunch for my family traveling Vancouver from Seattle.
wonderful food and staff, one of my favorite restaurants, always walk out with a smile ?
Amazing food and such friendly staff.
Excellent ramen and service. We enjoyed 3 bowls of ramen and a California bowl the last night of our vacation post cruise. Our server was knowledgeable and gave us great service. Highly recommend.
Maybe we came on a bad day, but we didn't understand the hype behind this izakaya. Some further reviews below:Toro: 2/5 - We ordered their special of the day: "Otoro" which was actually Chu-toro. The fish didn't taste as fresh as some of the toro I've had in other places.Negitoro Sushi: 3/5 - This was okay, not very memorable.Deep-fried Corn: 3/5 - This didn't taste bad! But I couldn't really taste how this was deep fried. The sauce they put on top took the crunch away from the corn.Aburi Wagyu sushi: 4/5 - This dish was a little more special. The toppings on each of the sushi was different with what looks like foie gras, truffle, and tobiko. The beef on top was extremely tender.Aburi tuna sushi: 2/5 - The sauce on the sushi overpowered the flavour from the fish and rice. It was overly saucy.Wagyu croquette: 2/5 - The flavour was very intense on this one. They had put a strong cheese inside which seemingly overpowered the taste of the beef and the mashed potatoes. It was a very heavy dish.Drinks: 5/5 - Very, very good cocktails. They did not have a strong alcohol taste, and you could really taste the juice a lot more.
My friend and I visited during a busy lunch and was seated in less than 5 minutes, despite not having reservations. We both ordered the Tan-Tan noodles and was blown away by how amazing it was. We visited Kingyo on a recommendation from a chef friend, and I consider this place a must-visit in Vancouver, 10/10
Dropped in here with the family, staff was super accommodating & friendly. The ramen is as good as it gets, & sushi plates were perfect.
Expensive but delicious!Would definitely come here again to try more things on the menu. The stone beef was super fresh and the sauce you dip it in made it extra enjoyable! The little appetizers are also great. We got the Ebi Mayo and the corn (I would highly recommend trying both!)? ? ? ? ?5/5
Never had this amazing udon before, love it so much. Beef was good too.
We arrived 15 minutes before they closed for the afternoon but were served very well and did not feel rushed at all. The menu is fantastic. So many things I'd like to try. We had a salad, some sashimi and the crab hot bowl. Everything was delicious and nicely presented. I wish we had come back for dinner instead of going to Tojo's!
