The service was great but the food was really mediocre. It has slightly more selection than some other AYCE hot pot places, but the soup tasted extremely bland. Most places use soup base + flavor you chose, and it's evident when they refill your soup. However, for this place they use water as the base, or a really skimped out version of soup base which tasted literally like water. The ingredients aren't that fresh either, especially compared to more recent hot pot places like marble house eatery, etc.I feel bad giving one star since the service was decent, but this is by far the worst AYCE hot pot place in the lower mainland and I've been to all of them. It's even worse than some of the ones that went out of business. To top all that off they also increased their prices to the point that it's more expensive than their competitors.
Fresh and tasty food. Must order chicken wings.
my first time coming to this Hot pot restaurant. I was pretty happy with all he can eat hot pot. there was good variety to have fried chicken wings as well. there was a $3 premium for wagu, but I found the regular beef to be just as good. I personally really like the lamb.
*** 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ***This place use to be the go to dinner place for my friends and I. We always made sure to make reservations ahead of time and we usually get decent service from the staff. There were on and off times with the lady owner who often gives off questionable attitude towards us but we were able to just shrug it off until this happened...So, Jun Yuan is known to have good quality meat and I wouldn't disagree except that it's not entirely true or consistent. I've noticed that the quality of the meat decreases profoundly as they come out AND this place is a (bold and underline): ALL YOU CAN EAT hot pot restaurant... that, up until today, apparently doesn't let you order all you can eat and also yells at you for ordering 'too much' - while, that's all understandable if we wasted a lot of food but we CLEARED everything. There was nothing left on the table or in the pot but they had the audacity to rudely cut us off with 'last call' even though it took them way too long to bring food out and then not even bring out the amount of food we ordered. I've truly never experienced such aggressive service and foul attitude from the lady owner. Unacceptable.
Good food. Boiled hot pot gives a different taste. Great service. A little much expensive than expected. No takeout is allowed as well.
Is it still considered all you can eat if they choose to stop serving you food? The owner lady told us it was last call, and then yelled at us because we wanted to make one last order... how does that even make sense? You're limited to 1.5hrs to eat, and they'll intentionally slowly bring your food out to waste time. If you can't even give people the food they ordered on the order sheet, don't call yourselves all you can eat. Take your $40 somewhere else that's more worth it.
Meat quality especially beef ones were top notch and are comparable to many high end and expensive hotpot places in Richmond averaging over $100/person. No complaints when we got a lot more than what we paid for. Today was only our first visit and I can say that this is the first good AYCE restaurant in the Metro Vancouver Area I found after moving here from Toronto two and a half years ago. Please comment if you think you have any good AYCE/buffet restaurants in mind near Vancouver.
Me and my friends try this place we ate all u can eat menu 2nd order we only got veggies ask about seafood they said they didnt see our order. We live it abbotsford far drive food not good poor service..
$34.99 for 12 years old and up; 20.99 for under 12. Plus price for soup base and drink. Most sauces cost extra!Handmade meatballs are delicious!! Good quality and fresh meat and seafood. Deep fried chicken wings were also very good.Flavour of soup bases were below average though.
Best place to go for authentic traditional hot pot, a must go!
