I don't know how they do it, but their vanilla lattes are incredibly yummy, as are their baked goods (which are generously sized, as well). (I suspect the latte quality is about good beans/roasting, combined with an unusually generous use of vanilla syrup.) The ambiance is relaxed and social, and the location is very bright. They have long tables, as well as small ones, so you can choose how social or private your time here will be. Street parking is easy and plentiful, on Alberni, though it runs $6/hr. (obably the reason it's so easy to find). This place offers great value for the price, if parking is excluded.

The vibe is super cool, modern, cozy and laidback. A very new and upcoming chain location and is by far the nicest I have visited beforehand.Im an avid fan of this fantastic chain and awesome coffee joint so took FULL advantage of grabbing a To Good To Go haul and boy did I get a surprise! A filo'loaded Pastry army equipped to take down anyone, fantastic value and great, fresh products made from natural and minimum ingredients. I managed to pickup:Jalapenó and Cheese MuffinPumpkin Seed Apple MuffinEverything CrossaintCody's Vegan BurritoEverything was super yummy, wholesome and fresh with great flavors of home baking style goodies.I first devoured the Pumpkin Seed Apple Muffin which was so delicious!!Definetely recommend and will always return!Support local businesses!

Bad service. Stood waiting while servers chatted to each other. When they finished, gave and charged me for the wrong thing. He thought I was being picky when I asked him to refund me the difference. Sure coffee and pastries are good, but please focus on customer.

Great place to study and get some work done

Decent cortado, the environment felt a bit sterile and corporate, but pretty good coffee.

First time trying jj bean coffee and I wish I stuck to what I know is good coffee. This was the Worse coffee I ever had here at the downtown location Bute and Alberni St. I just wanted a fresh hot coffee, I believe the one i was served was Ethiopian something, they said they would make a fresh batch but it was Lukewarm to start. It was such a strong bitter taste I took one sip and and felt like I was drinking vinegar or old coffee so I just threw it out ?, but doesn’t stop there. My partner order a hot chocolate but it was more like a hot water, barely tasted anything like hot chocolate so watery and gross, I’m never coming back here in fact to any jj bean coffee again. Waste of $8

I love the tea lattes and the desserts they have is amazing. I had a chai latte, apple fritter Ccruffin, cinnamon roll and their zucchini chocolate chip muffin. I love the location on Alburni and Bute Street.

Good coffee and delicious pastries, especially the huge muffins, however staff is consistently rude. It's almost like all of them are forbidden from smiling. They don't seem like they enjoy their job.

It’s a beautiful cafe with great coffee with the distinctive JJ Bean taste. I prefer their hot coffee as I find their cold coffee to contain too much ice. Unlike some cafes, their wifi works in the patio too. Most of the baristas are friendly and take the effort to ensure your drink is well presented

The food is amazing, the chocolqre croissants are perfectly crispy and the muffins are huge, filling, and delicious. The breakfast burritos are amazing, the Ranchero in particular is a great start to the morningThe Chai latte is very nice, and the added cinnamon on top really makes it a perfect autumn drink. It's good all year round, though! The Shiver is a good summer blended drink, the caramel is my favourite. They also do a great latte, usually with latte art!As for this location in particular, all the staff are so kind and amiable. The manager Janiece, in particular, is a joy to see when I'm in there. I don't go every day, but she remembers my name when I do, and it's very sweet. I love stopping by.
