Love this place.. but it is now $17 for a bowl of phõ.That’s honestly the biggest rip off I’ve ever seen no matter how good it is.$15 MAX for rice noodles & meat. Nobody in the city charges this much. Help the community out! That’s 40% higher than your old prices. All other restaurants went up 20%. Chill out
First time dine in here, Bun rieu is surprised me, tested like what I ate in Ho chi min city.Knocked out 1 star because really disappointed on Banh Xeo, very less meat 3 thin medium sliced of pork, 1 shrimp and loaded of cooked bean sprouts. Will go back for Bun rieu tho.
I've been testing various Pho restaurants just to check if their soup broth 'Is it Legit Pho or not':If you order any combination of Hai Phong's Pho beef noodle soup, make sure to take home just the soup broth.*Remember to finish off any remaining noodles, bean sprouts, and basil*Put the soup container into the fridge for over 4-6hrs and then you'll notice that their soup gels up.There's only a few places in town that still uses authentic bone broth for their Pho, and Hai Phong is one of those few gems. When the collegen from the beef bone gets released during cooking, it gets so rich that it solidifies the entire Pho soup when you take it out from the fridge.Reheat the Pho soup for another quick & easy lunch/dinner.5/5 Score - Hai Phong has 'Legit Pho'
I’ve dined here many times over the years. I really wanted to try the coconut rice cake with shrimp. It wasn’t what I expected, it was dry and dense. The chicken wings had great taste but it was small portion.Service was great and lots of free parking despite it being on Kingsway.
Very efficient staff, the food and soup bases for the noodles were very delicious. One of the go to place
Consistent quality over the years, and they have been around.Service is friendly and food is authentic which keep me coming back. I like their Com Tam (broken rice) dishes.Highly recommend.
Love it here, as a vietnamese person. You can't go wrong. It's no-fuss, good Vietnamese food with a broad selection to choose from. From classic comforts to chef specials. By the way, if you want the specia tamarind crab dish, remember to pre-order 1-2 days ahead!
Ill admit that I usually can't tell the difference between pho, but this place is different. Their broth and beef is noticeably better than what I usually have. Also the restaurant is bigger and more comfortable than you'd think. Parking is a bit cramped, but the food is worth it for sure.
Wide menu selection. One of the few places in Vancouver serving marinated raw beef (bo tai chanh).June 2018: Post renos, place looks modernized although layout the same. Food different - chicken wings not as good. Wait staff different, friendly, attentive.
I ordered the spicy beef had some weird chicken ball and turkey loaf. I didn't enjoy it a lot of chewy meat and weird noodles.
