This place used to be the best place in town for fish n’ chips but a few things have changed for the worse. They no longer have indoor dining. Covid is over now. Bring back the indoor tables. No more excuses! and the batter on the fish is WAY too thick compared to 5 years ago. Back then it was thin, crisp, and perfect. Now it’s thick which acts like a sponge and makes it very greasy. Yuck! They should have stuck to their original recipe. Because of these major issues, my new go-to for fish n’ chips is The Fish Counter on Main Street. Sorry guys

We've always been fans of Victoria's FAS, so it made perfect sense, we continue the tradition in Vancouver, now that we have moved to the North Shore. FAS did not disappoint! We stocked up on FAS sockeye and rockfish filets, then added one healthy cold smoke tuna side as well. The front-of-house staff took time to get us the correct portions, then vacuum seal an extra lot for our freezer. I suspect it won't be long, until we're back at Arbutus to stock up again. A special thanks to the team back in Victoria, (Rose, Dee-Lynn, and Aaron) for taking care of us for many years, and to the plant staff and fishermen/women for the hard work, and long hours bringing it to the shop. I highly recommend a stop at the FAS stores, and food truck, if you're visiting!

My local take-away chippie serves up fresh helpings of Cod, Sablefish, Salmon, & Halibut. I find the portions to be generous & reasonable. Eat it while it's hot otherwise it can lose it's crunchy texture. The yam fries are a great option.

Overpriced and you still feel hungry, you eat fries more than fish,

Very well done all around. Can't wait to go back. A must try if you're in the area.

Pricey but great quality fresh seafood. We ordered their lobster boil bucket and were extremely impressed with it. Very friendly staff at the store as well.

Excellent place with friendly staff, especially the blonde gentlemen who was very helpful and recommended some great salads.

Serving fresh hostility for supper!Come here if you have always wondered what the lower decks felt like on the Titanic. The service here had always been abysmal. I phoned ownership in Victoria 3 years ago to ask why it was service here is so bad, and if it was on purpose. The staff have always been very sad looking and are generally inexperienced. The ones who seem to have energy are often really disinterested in anything to do with customer service.Today though was a really special day.Today I asked the price of halibut, was told in grams, asked for pounds, caught an eye roll and an "over 30 bucks." Then I asked for some of each of the smoked fish and the man behind the counter with glasses and longer hair yelled became aggressive with me, and when I asked why he said that I was not specific enough in my order. When I asked him for a different service person he yelled loud enough to echo off the floor tile, "it all goes to the same company!"The young woman who helped me was very kind. The counterperson at the fish and chips pass was very kind. And they both seem like people who sustain abuse without a lot of hostility outwardly. The young man behind the counter has been working there for quite a few years I've seen him before, but he's never yelled at me before. The problem here is management and ownership. If you really want to get some good fish but he yelled at or treated like your business does not matter at all, you should go here.Otherwise you should go anywhere else but here.

Good selection of fresh seafoods to take home, and an even better kitchen offering fish and chips.

Excellent seafood shop. Beautiful filets, fresh shellfish and smoked fish (try the candied sablefish), with a nice variety house prepared salads, and other ready made sides. Also various choices to craft a seacuterie plate with artisanal canned and jarred provisions.Off their made to order menu their lingcod fish and chips, shrimp roll and seafood bisque are great.
