Went to Fat Boy for Breakfast , today.Got there about 9:30 am and there was only 1 other patron there.By 10 am the restaurant was full and also had folks waiting for a table.Had Laksa soup with Beef. Also toast , egg, hash browns, baked beans and Beef.Small place with good food and service.
Nice little restaurant for Kong Kong style breakfast or bunch. Good taste with reasonable price. Sits comfortably too. Recommend.
I'm on the fence between 2 to 3 star because food was terrible and so much disposable cutlery but service was good. The breakfast was standard but the tomato beans were cold (maybe it's just my own preference but I've never been served cold beans before) the $3 add on fish ball noddle soup was so bland, just alot of rice noodles and 3pcs of fish balls. Not worth extra $3. I couldn't finish it, took it home and the noodles turned to rice paste mushed together. I noticed so much disposable cutlery that I felt like I was in a food court not in a restaurant. Since I don't live close, don't think I'll come back to try their lunch menu.
Yummy food, good value and courteous service. We ordered a chicken laksa soup noodles and all day breakfast. Excellent presentation and taste good. I always love small local businesses.
We really enjoyed the food today. Generous portions. Flavourful soup noodles - we tried the laksa and the schezwan beef. Huge plate of Taiwanese fried chicken. Yummy HK milk tea. Takeout containers cost 50c each FYI. Friendly efficient service. Was steadily busy even at 2pm. A great find.
One of our family weekend go to place. Great taste great value. Love it. Must try place in East Vancouver.
Though the menu is limited, each of the items are quite delicious. I also like their noodle soup and all day breakfast. The base price is quite affordable but there are extra charges for upgrading drinks (or adding a drink for the breakfast).
Given this is a small restaurant, I'm impressed by the quality of the food.Beef and mushroom sandwich: Was eclipsed by the fries, which were prepared my favourite way, with batter and crispy. The sandwich was nice too, lots of beef, tender and cooked medium rare the way I like. Only complaint was that there was some cartilage in the meat, which I had to cut out.Panko-fried pork chops: Again, lots of meat, two chops, which were tender, juicy, and just gently seasoned, the way I like.Service excellent.
Beyond excellent services. Got to wait a bit , but it’s all worth it for good food. Ordered the pork chop bun and satay noodles it was awesome ! Be back for sure !
Hong Kong style comfort food perfected!! So happy to have found this place. Friendly staff, they clean the tables and chairs thoroughly, great food, highly recommend their pork chop bun. Had the chicken laksa and satay beef noodles too but apparently there are 2 different types of satay beef. If you want the hk style one you’ll have to let them know. We will be back a lot!
