For the price we could've had a more delightful experience at an actual higher-end Japanese eatery. The menu choices were limited and they were out of some items. The quality of the food tasted no different than your small neighborhood run of the mill sushi joint. At least the pitcher of Sapporo was cold and fresh. This place is a far cry from it's predecessor the Kamei Royale.
Went to Ebisu for lunch with a friend and it had been awhile since I've visited this restaurant. The lunch menu was pretty simple, one side of the menu were Bentos that ranged from $16-$18 and the other side was 3 combination meal that was $16 (or each dish is $6). I decided to go with the 3 combination: Yam roll, salmon sashimi & chicken teriyaki. The yam roll was nice, it wasn't overcooked and still had a slight firmness to it, which I prefer. The salmon was nice and fresh and I did enjoy the presentation. The chicken teriyaki had a nice crispy skin, the meat was moist and had the perfect amount of teriyaki sauce. The service was friendly and we didn't wait long for our food, however we did arrive a few minutes after 12 and did notice a few people coming in shortly after us, so it could get busier around 1 or so. It's a perfect spot for a sit down lunch if you have an hour break.
They only serve lunch specials and 3 for $15 during lunch. I thought there would be choices off the menu but it's for dinner only.Teriyaki chicken didn't taste like Japanese teriyaki, I was really disappointed. The 'yam' tempura was squash. I'm definitely not coming back.
Really great spot with unique dishes! I wish we took photos of the food but we were pretty hungry and didn’t stop to do so; service was just as great, super friendly staff with an awesome sense of humour. Also, really nice interior - very different from the other Ebisu restaurants, if you haven’t been to this location you’re missing out! I recommend going with a couple friends. Thank you!
Always Perfect beautiful creations with amazing flavors and textures you can order "off the menu" if you don't see something on the menu excellent service
Menu has completely changed and prices are quite unreasonable. Restaurant used to be a nice casual place to have dinner but now prices are so high and the menu does not even have regular rolls.... Instead you just have to ask for the chef to prepare classic rolls without even knowing the price. Service was quite poor as well. Restaurant was pretty empty, yet simple rolls took 25 minutes to prepare. Ended up waiting 15 minutes for the waiter to bring the card machine after getting the bill. Used to dine at this restaurant fairly often but will now choose alternatives.
New menu at this location with great new items and flavors ! Happy hour oysters are the best in town! Attentive and friendly service ! Will definitely come back again!
food was great but the wait was a bit too long so it is best to plan to visit at hours before the crowd gets in. Service was very good, and the furnishing very Japanese.
