Great tasting food, excellent service. Only small problem is the uncomfortable seating :(
Good value for money. Tried the tasting menu, mostly good and in right proportion.
Amazing food, will definitely revisit. Decor was beautiful, (chairs would be the only down side, not comfortable and rather unstable for a larger person.) service was average.
We visited East is East with my family. We have previously enjoyed ordering dishes off the menu and all sharing. They have stopped doing this. One where on their website, menu not server informed us of this. We were forced to spend 40 per person to participate in the chai fest if we wanted to stay. We unfortunately were not able to get the other two options that you could get for dinner. The food was tasty but for 40 per person it is not worth it. I will continue to order take out from here as you can order specific dishes at a dinner size. I will not be dining in any longer.
Great place - love the Chai fest and drinks.
What a lovely spot. Food absolutely scrumptious, live music enjoyable and unintrusive. Initial service a little delayed (45 mins or so till we had any food).
We enjoyed the food and our server was very helpful a me are our experience lovely
Everything was delicious! We had the tasting menu, no one could decide on any single item as their favorite. The price was more than fair, considering the unlimited supply of dishes. Plus, the serving staff checked often to see if we wanted more food.
Took hubby and my toddler here for fathers day dinner yesterday. We had the Chai Feast Tasting Menu and it was absolutely amazing. It's pretty much the classiest and most tasty all you can eat in town. They bring you small portions for you to sample and if you like it you can order it again. This is how all you can eat should be done! Zero food-wasting since you order as you finish the items. My favorite was definitely the mango chicken! The restaurant was busy yesterday and they knew they were running behind and they warned us in advance saying our food may be delayed and they gave us big glasses of chai tea, which by the way is absolutely delicious, on the house to sip on while we waited. I don't know how much better the service can get? Instead of leaving us frustrated waiting they warned us in advance and gave us complimentary chai! It took about an hour for our food to come but we had zero complaints because we were told in advance! The food was absolutely delicious and we savored every bite. We will definitely be back again! As a bonus my toddler didn't even want to leave because the seating was so comfy she wanted to lay on all the plush pillows! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Ambience, food, service, decor, authenticity is 10/10!
We went for our 2 year anniversary and loved this place. I found the chai to have a little too much spice in them (and this is coming from an Indian who has has masala chai in India many times). Overall though I loved it! The love music was the cherry on top! I would go again if life brings me back to Vancouver. Highly recommend.
