The main differentiation for #e is that their sandwich contents are served hot. Unlike the pre-made sandwiches from coffee shops that are grilled on the outside, these are made to order – just like the ones I would make at home. The fresh ingredients and hot proteins make the sandwiches very enjoyable and comfort-food-like. We ordered two vegetarians. The roasted vegetables taste freshly roasted and not re-heated – I hope they are. I selected gluten free bread which tastes like real bread, only I didn't appreciate that the loaf was so narrow. A big disappointment for me was the olive tapenade. While the olive livened the taste, the garlic in the tapenade made me uncomfortable for a number of hours afterwards. But we will definitely be back to try other fillings and salads.
Hands down one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! The Panang peanut lamb was incredible. Freshly made buns are excellent. Support this business, you won’t regret it!

Delicious nutella berry pastry and hot beef sandwich! The staff was friendly in making recommendations, also walking out with our sandwiches while we waited outside. Gravy was homemade, and the grainy mustard in the sandwich made it one to remember. Will definitely be back soon!

I came in here today. Asked for a receipt cause I had a feeling the cashier wasn’t even listening. Walk away as I have ADHD and notice all the deserts and then forgot to ask for the receipt. Anyhow, I get it and I noticed she did miss one of my items. I’m on a lunch break and have about 16 min now to get my food and walk back. All good, we won’t get the wings but the owner didn’t need to side comment “just wait”. I don’t have time I gotta get back to work. So I wait outside no problem. The owner comes outside and gives me a sandwich. I ask him if there was the desert I ordered also in which the cashier also forgot, then proceeds to pack it. As I’m about to leave I ask for the gravy for the dip, he said that’s a grilled cheese. I never ordered a grilled cheese. Anyhow through all this, instead of making up for what was a mistake, the owner begins to project his frustrations at me as if I’m the reason these mistakes were made? I will not be disrespected. What’s even worse is that I’m a loyal customer and have been coming here for a year and recommending it everyone I know in the neighbourhood. You’ve missed the point. You no longer are a special restaurant. Just another hole in the wall that serves sandwiches. Rather put my time and money into a business that actually cares.

I never write reviews but felt obligated to spread the good word. I thought to myself, man, Vancouver is lacking in the sandwich department. I don't understand all the hype around Meat&Bread, and I've had Hubbub too many times. Did a little digging and discovered I live close-by this unassuming yet absolutely incredible sandwich spot! We ordered three sandwiches, and our favourite was the beef dip. The cracked salt on the fresh bread is so damn good. You know when you can taste the love someone put into their cooking? It's like that.
Had the lemongrass chicken sandwich and the Nutella cake. The sandwich was good. The chicken could have been hotter. The flavour was mild and good but didn’t make me crave another one in the future. Their freshly baked bread is excellent though. I’ll definitely return to try the other sandwiches. This could very well be the best sandwich shop in the city.The dessert was WAY too sweet. I have a sweet tooth and I had to force myself to take a second bite and then had to throw most of it in the garbage. It was crazy sweet.I’ll be nice and rate them just on the sandwich and not take it further down for the throwaway dessert.
