I grew up in Germany and I have tried "the Döner" and also in Turkey. So I wanted to give it a try during my vacation trip in Vancouver. I ordered the lamb Donair. The meat was very tender and yummy. I enjoyed it. I wished however that they used the traditional Turkish pocket bread with the proper yoghurt sauce "Hydari". Adding hummus to it deviates from the "original" and turns it into a typical Shwarma. The portions are massive. I was able to finish it by myself. One Donair or platter can be easily eaten by 2, even men. The mango dessert was amazing.
Mostly i love Donair Dude. Forgot to ask for sauce on the side tonight and the food was so covered in to much sauce that it was gross. I couldn't taste anything but the sauce. If you love Donair sauce and soggy food then this is great for you. But i prefer my food not soggy. My fault for not asking for it on the side i suppose...
The restaurant is very clean/pristine, completely spotless despite it being in a rough area (they must do a lot of cleaning). The Ravdeep guy who works the night shift is very friendly, extremely fast service and the food tastes AMAZING. I will be a regular customer here.
While having drinks with my travelling companion Claude, he suggested this place, his favourite.I ordered the lamb donair with my own choices. It was fabulous and told them as well!
I honestly don't know whether it was this location that I ordered DoorDash delivery from, but what I do know is that both the chicken and lamb donairs were made to perfection, wrapped very neatly in a pita, and extremely delicious.Whenever you've got a hankering for some tasty meat, Donair Dude is your place to go!
Firstly, AMAZING customer service. Every single staff was kind and helpful. Like, this looks like a place I’d like to work at! The food is fresh and delicious. One of the ladies asked me how my day was while I waited for fresh fries. It was so sweet and she truly seemed to care. I praised them for their cheerful attitude and their customer service. I understand that dealing with the public and working for a restaurant is hard but what a breath of fresh air to have staff who seem genuine and happy!! It can make someone’s day! I will be definitely come back here often!!! Love it!
Worst Donair Dude location out of all. Spent $13 for not fresh ingredients, rushed service and small quantity compared to their other locations. Even if you ask to put all add ons, Pita gets half full. Girls rush you. Never visiting this location ever again. Why would I not spend money on neighbouring Megabytes or A&W. Rip off experience.
Food is super fresh and yummy, always satisfied. Staff is also super friendly. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because of the price, you can get the same thing at other donair places for a significantly lower price.
