Another wonderful lunch on the Dachi patio. Six of us shared delicious small plates, with the vegetable-forward ones being the standouts showcasing summer bounty. Service was impeccable.
Outstanding meal. The pan-seared cod was a personal favourite. Definitely get dessert— our rhubarb dish finished the meal off perfectly. Great service and drinks as well— the “Never Better” was memorably good if you like Mezcal.
Phenomenal spot and one of my favourite patios in Vancouver. The staff are SO friendly, I would absolutely recommend if you love a menu that changes frequently and, wine!
typical hipster establishment. Overpriced. The dishes are all meant to be shared according to the waiter and aren't large enough to be considered an entree. a $40 duck dish but isn't large enough to feed a single person? I got the bison katsu balls. The meat was OK but it was super salty. The salad on the side had almost no dressing and tasted like eating weeds. The service was very very good though and our waters were constantly being topped up (typical hipster glasses that are super tiny so they have to constantly fill it). The outside seating is decent except there were insects. I'm assuming the place is a good wine place. I don't drink so i can't comment on that but my friends were very happy with the selections of wines.
Brilliant restaurant/wine or sake bar. Food and selections of wines/sake are superb. Each dish is thoughtful and made with fresh local ingredients. Some of the best vegetable dishes. Dachi and Elephant make some of the best vegetables. Staffs are friendly and knowledgeable. We have two young children and they were very accommodating.Lastly, the outdoor area is very nice too. I think it's a great place for drinks and food, but best if you do both.
Went for our three year anniversary and could not have chosen a better restaurant to celebrate at! I was blown away at the vegetarian options… get the tasting menu. Set price per person and the food just keeps coming. I was so impressed with how the chef built flavour dish by dish culminating in one of the best mushroom dishes I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’ll spend some time in my own kitchen trying to replicate it, it was that good. Kudos Dachi, very well done.
A great local hidden gem. A fantastic rotating wine list with a cute patio. Menu can be hit or miss depending on your palate, but overall they have some great choices that should satisfy everyone. A little pricey, but overall worth it!
Pretty good food but the dishes are very small, they don’t provide a wine list, they pressure you with expensive bottles at the table, and then they charge a surprise $15 “in-house corking fee” (mentioned in very fine print on the menu). They justify it by saying that their base wine prices are “retail”, which does not make sense, and was not true in our case (wine retail was $34, their markup was $59 + the corking fee). I get that restaurants have had a hard time over the past 2 years but this experience just felt totally dishonest and, frankly, like a scam. Really unfortunate because I came here years ago and love it, but I won’t come back. We actually had to get take-in afterwards because we were so hungry.
One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. Excellent high quality food with knowledgeable service that put you at ease from the second you walk in the door. Have been listing this place to anyone looking for a recommendation since. Keep doing what you're doing.
