Very fresh seafood. Little noisy inside. Would consider outside patio table if we returned. Salmon well prepared and great flavor. The cod was very good also.
We eagerly went to this restaurant, based on recommendation from my DK travel book & the 2019 award won. Well, it’s 2022 and it definitely did not seem to be the same restaurant! The $145 crab legs were over cooked. Likewise, the hot sea food platters that my husband and I had each ordered came with with ahi tuna, lobster, cod and salmon that were all over cooked and overly salted, as if someone had just left it on the stove and dumped several extra teaspoons of salt on them. I couldn’t even stomach the tuna. No one asked how we wanted our salmon, and both of our dishes had over cooked salmon with burned brussel sprouts that were caked in some purée that made it even more nauseating. We’ve had excellent seafood, and believe me, this was not it and such a disappointment for our first seafood in Vancouver. Overall, a meal that cost over $400 for 3 people but tasted like something from a restaurant in a truck stop. I would rather eat McDonalds if given a choice. Never again.
Return visit to this restaurant. Crab cake appetizer was very good and ling cod was very tasty. Risotto was good but halibut had a nice sear on the skin but the fish was fairly dry. Good selections of wine.
I had the Crab Cake appetizer and Halibut and Risotto Chefs Special, it was a 10/10 definitely recommended, if you like that type of fish. My server Andrew was really personable he was great and attentive, everyone was warm and friendly at each touch point of the restaurant. Attire semi casual or super glammed up depending on your occasion.
Excellent staff, great atmosphere Love the drink selection!???
If you want the best produce served fresh or cooked to perfection Coast is place for you. Coupled with happy attentive service it was a pleasure to dine there. We were in transit for 6 days and ate there 4 times can't give a higher recommendation than that. The 2.30-5.00pm Happy Hour lunch is another gem offering where the serves were generous. Course recommendations it was all good listen to the staff.
Such a great experience from start to finish. We showed up with no reservation and they helped us out on a very busy night. Josh was a such a great help with the menu and friendly over and above his normal duties. All the staff was fantastic. Thanks to all.
We had arctic char and sable fish, both expertly prepared and beautifully presented. Great service too, we would go back.
Coast is our go to restaurant downtown Vancouver because their seafood is consistently fresh and tasty. We had their happy hour on a Thursday along with their lunch special for $18 seafood risotto….the best risotto even beating out some of the top Italian restaurants. I think it must be the seafood stock they use from all their lobster crab prawns and fish. So so delicious and generous portion too. We had a dozen of oysters Denman Blue at $2 each and they were so sweet and mild….absolutely tasty. We had oysters at Joe Fortes last month and theirs stank and not fresh like Coast. We also had the fish and chips for $25 with 2 generous pieces and the crunchiest fries ever…very much like Costco fries with a crispy coating…generous portion again. Their Caesar salad is divine…fried capers, pancetta, and the dressing is home made. I can eat a whole bowl of it…so so good. Their happy hour calamari was good but didn’t wow us and at $14 happy hour size…on the smaller side. Our servers, Blaine and Tyler, were fantastic. Blaine was especially accommodating, personal but yet professionally competent. He knew how to please his diners and he makes their dining experience an enjoyable one by accommodating which we liked. Thank you to our great servers and to an amazing kitchen crew for putting out some awesome tastings dishes.
We come to Coast whenever we are downtown because their food is always excellent fresh and delicious. Our servers Blaine and Tyler were top notch attentive personal and extremely professional. Their fresh happy hour oysters were sweet and delicious at $2 at happy hour. Each time we have them they have been consistently fresh and tasty. Last month at joe fortes their oyarwra were $1.50 but not fresh. They stank. Here at the Coast their fish and chips are crispy and their froes are so crunchy like Costcos. Lol their lunch special seafood risotto was absolutely divine at $18 i can eat it everyday and generous portion too. Their caesar salad was with home made dressing with fried capers tender pancetta and delicious dressing. Loved it. Of course our servers Blaine and Tyler made our lunch that much more special by their outstanding service. Thank you fellows and thank you to the kitchen crew for putting out such amazing dishes
