Ok, I will admit that I’m a HC fanatic. Had been eating it since I was a kid. So I consider myself a connoisseur of this dish. I was with a friend who I discovered this restaurant. It was a smaller place but don’t let that fool you. The chicken was cooked just right, not overcooked. They also use regular chicken instead of free range chicken, a lot of places serves FR chicken because they can charge more for it. I definitely will go back again.
Something good, quick and satisfying on a rather wet Wednesday evening - and remembered one of our old favourites - city 1; funny how I always forget to review old favourites. This rezzie is perfect as their portions are not generous and suits a weekday dinner. And the Hainanese chicken is as good as in the past, but what’s outstanding are their chicken oil rice - Yummy - and the accompanying soup, which is such a good chicken broth that I guess they make from the bones of their boneless chicken. As good as home made chicken soup (oops, my better half is NOT gonna like this remark!). Opted for the half chicken with the 3 bowls of rice and 2 soups. My my my, they still serve small portions - must be pigmy chickens!! LOL, but the smoothness and flavour makes up for the lack of quantity. And the price - boy it’s higher than I remembered it - but what’s as cheap now as in the past??!! Oh well!!
Hidden gem in an old strip mall. The store front isn't popping but food was great. Service is slow as only one person looking after the whole restaurant. The kitchen is also quite slow. Portion is small but tasted delicious. Only comment on the food is the curry beef brisket is chopped into tiny pieces. If the pieces were bigger, it would be perfect.
This restaurant was never on my radar until someone mentioned about their hainanese chicken. Ordered one whole chicken with oil rice and a large curry beef brisket. Pretty good hainanese chicken but I wouldn’t say it was the best. The curry beef brisket had a good amount of spice to it but it would be nicer if the beef brisket wasn’t cut into super small pieces. Overall a decent meal.
The best Hainanese chicken rice I have found in Vancouver so far.
Excellent Hainan Chicken. They also cooked the rice in chicken broth. We had half a chicken. It came with 3 bowls of rice & soup.
The boneless Hainan Chicken is delicious! If you order a whole chicken, it comes with two side chicken rice.
Good Hainanese chicken rice ?But don’t order around the close time, always sold out. Many ppl tell me that they think this place is the best Chicken Hainanese rice in town. You should try .
Love their signature Hainan Chicken w Oil rice ?laksa was ok, not bad but we won’t come back for this. The appertizer skewers are tender and juicy but more on the sweet side and quite pricey. We didn’t feel the after taste of MSG here ??Service was ok
The food is great. Came here for the Hainan Chicken rice and was satisfied with food. Stars were deducted for service. They are clearly short-staffed. Wait about 5 minutes to get seated, and another five minutes for getting the menu. After checking with the server about the portion of 1/4 chicken (which is like 5 small pieces of meat), I said I will go with the half chicken. Then she turned into a complete shock face, like “are you sure?”, come on, this is non of your business…and 5 pieces are not enough for an adult.
