Delicious pork. Quick service. Vegetarian options were good. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Spacious set up.
Cute spot in Chinatown - retro diner meets Chinese restaurant! We came less than an hour before closing and while that meant they were out of BBQ duck, the soy chicken, vegetable fried rice and Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce did NOT disappoint. The chicken was so delicious and tender and the skin packed a lot of flavour. A great addition was the ginger and scallion side sauce provided for the chicken. The service was very fast and very friendly. Would highly recommend visiting for a meal!
Really can’t go wrong with anything you order at Chinatown BBQ. Everything is delicious, good value and great atmosphere! You’ll hear your server tell you and every subsequent guest seated in your area about the best bang for your BBQ buck! Which is the duck of course, and pork 2 ways. Listen to him. Get only one appetizer if you want to finish your meal there, or get 2 or more if you want leftovers to take home. Amazing place, would return any time I’m nearby.
Without a doubt the best Chinese BBQ restaurant my wife and I have been to. My favorite was the roast pork. So crispy and flavorful. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Appreciated the host recommending the 3 meat dish and Gai lan with chili crisp, a delicious combo that went very well together. I wish Boston or New York had Chinese BBQ this good!
Clean, simple, and fresh Cantonese fare in a hip retro-inspired interior with staff that is kind and attentive and efficient. I was immediately impressed by the pretty décor and the smartly outfitted host and servers. They are super kind and were gracious enough to have a conversation with me about their nationalities. The food is served in beautiful and traditional-inspired dishware, and then BBQ Duck in Noodle Soup that I ordered was delicious. I wish that the noodles were a bit longer because they were hard to scoop up with my chopsticks. The plum (?) sauce that accompanied the meat was yummy, and didn't taste like it came straight out of a jar. I really appreciate that after the meal the servers seem to ask all the customers about their experience and if they have been to the restaurant before. Even though many people are just stopping by for a quick bite, the attitude of the staff is very kind. I'll definitely be back.
I love going to this place not only for the amazing food but also for the retro vibe that reminds me of restaurants back in Asia.We got the 3 BBQ meat platter and picked Roast Pork, BBQ duck, Soy Chicken. We would have also gotten BBQ pork but 4 meat dishes seemed a bit too much for just two people. We also got the Gai Lan with Oyster Sauce which was very flavourful. This place honestly never disappoints. Food, ambiance, and service are top notch.
I love the BBQ duck. If normally you don’t eat duct because of its smell, you should try at this restaurant. It’s soft and tender.I ordered: three BBQ meat platter (you can choose 3 meat) and Jellyfish Marinated in Sesame and Chili.
Our first meal arriving Vancouver last Sunday night. Order 2 items BBQ plate + curry with rice for the 2 of us. The BBQ duck skin is not crispy since it was late in the day, BBQ pork was good. Maybe better if going for lunch when the BBQ items are fresher. Servers were nice and attentive. Overall a decent meal.
Great authentic place for Chinese bbq. The recommended option is to go for a mixed bbq - chicken, duck and pork. The service is friendly and the food tasty. The menu is simple and that adds to the beauty/authenticity of the place. The bbq duck was divine and the pork has amazingly crisp crackling. The chinese spinach starter was great too. The place closes early in the evening so checks the times before you go. I recommend going for an early dinner or lunch as they run out of their favourites - duck and pork. It is a shame that the City of Vancouver has let beautiful Chinatown to rot and it is now a place full of homeless and druggies.
Stopped by to snack on some char siu bbq pork and it was good. Saw the pork and duck hanging in the window and was glad I grabbed some take out. It’s like any other Chinatown where you have some seedy areas within the general back it’s but this place was good enough for us to stop by 2 days in a row.
