I loved eating at Chi so much I visited twice during my 10-day trip to Vancouver. The atmosphere is a 10. The food is a 10. The drinks are a 10. And the staff is a RESOUNDING 10. They are such lovely people.Be sure to try the mango drink! I can’t remember what it was called but I had about 3!
I highly recommend Chi Vegan! The food, service, and environment are excellent! The food is so special and delicious. I have never had anything like it! It's a mix of Asian, Italian, and American cuisines that results in an excellent experience for the senses. My favorite dishes are the veggie spring rolls and Dan Dan Pappardelle though everything I have tried here is worth ordering again and again.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! You must try it!If I will be recommending any place to my friends in the kits area this will definitely be it! Like many others I had walked by this place several times not knowing the absolutely delicious and unique meals on the other side. The front is deceiving but the inside decor is so beautiful and calm. Every dish is packed with unique flavours and pairings you won’t even notice it’s vegan. We tried the following (see pics);Appetizers: cauliflower & spicy wontonMains: udon carbonara & shaken beefDessert: matcha coconut ice cream & French dark chocolate with churrosEverything blew us away there is not one thing to complain about. Every bite was even more savoury than the one before. Head chef was out to provide information and inspiration for the rotating menu - she is very knowledgeable! We cannot recommend this place enough. Please go try it for yourself you will not be disappointed!
Terrible service, was seated and waited for a waiter for half an hour before deciding to leave. Have been to Chi twice before and the service was non existent but at least we had our order taken. No one else in the dining room was being served or waited on. Should follow other restaurants lead in closing the dining room when you don’t have enough staff.
I love the place so much. I trust Chi’s talents to the point I can randomly choose anything from the menu since I know I would be satisfied with whichever. I brought so many friends there, even the non-vegan got charmed. She’s my only high recommendation for vegan cuisine in Vancouver. Her food is so flavorful and so on point. You can’t do that without true talent.
My boyfriend and I went to Chi Vegan during Dine-out Vancouver for the first time, and it was amazing!! Each of the three courses was so yummy and carefully curated. Chef Chi Li was lovely and had a great wine pairing suggestion for our chosen dishes.
We went for the dine out Vancouver menu, so it was not the full menu, but delicious nonetheless.First of all the drinks were amazing - we had the Japanese amber ale, fruity martini, (fresh) ginger beer and the vietnamese coffee - all of the great! For appies we started with the Depp fried moji, pot stickers and spring rolls. The pot stickers and spring rolls were great, but the moji was a bit of a different taste - worth a try though. For dinner we had the Japanese pancake - more like a waffle with lots of sauces and ingredients on top. Crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The curry was also good, but nothing you can't get in a good indian/thai restaurant. The paperdella pasta was very good - noodles were cooked perfectly and great sauce. BUT the best dish by far was the seitan beef - prob one of the best veggie dishes I've ever had - a must have!!!!The only thing I didn't like was the dessert - black sesame moji balls and the second was a banana tapioca pudding. I found the tapioca the best, but neither was really my style. The atmosphere was fantastic and the owner was also on hand. Her friendliness and the staff made it an overall 5 star experience!
Delicious food, interesting menu options - I wanted to try everything, good portion sizes, great interior and atmosphere, tasty cocktails, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend!
What a wonderful spot for vegan foods. The ambiance was so cute and the menu had so many things on offer I wanted to order, it was hard to choose. Everyone at the table got something different so I can safely say their menu is full of delicious looking options. The Brussel sprouts were a-mazing. Do not sleep on them. They also have a great list of cocktails to sip on, there will def. be something for everyone. The service we received was not very quick, I would have loved to try another drink but we never really got checked in on again after the food dropped.
The food deserves a hiring rating but the service was so bad that I landed on 2/5. We started with the vegetable rolls, the squash perogies and the rose water ginger beer which were all great (the ginger beer was amazing). Then our main courses came. My friend received the wrong meal and I received an inedible udon carbonara (if you would even call it that). Nobody came to check on us but after 20 minutes we flagged someone down. We had already eaten my friends dish which we later learnt was the turmeric phish and it was great. But I hadn’t eaten my “carbonara.” I explained to the server that I tried to eat it but it was literally swimming in a sea of oil and I was feeling nauseous from it. She was apologetic but didn’t provide resolution and said she would get the manager. The manager came over and told me I was “wrong and that 11000 people have ordered it and nobody sends it back so it was my problem. She refused to take it off our bill or get me something else so we paid and left and won’t be returning. It’s a shame as the other dishes proved they have good food but the service or lack thereof was so disrespectful.
