Lots of spicy food. More fat on the duck. The $75 fried rice is just soy sauce fried rice mixed with beef. Tables are small. 6 of us have to pass down food constantly. Nice view with complimentary parking. Very good service. Good for business entertainment. Not good value for family gathering.
A unique take on Chinese food combined with amazing waterfront location makes for a compelling package. Highly recommended.
Closest Peking duck experience to Beijing that I've had in Vancouver. The fire show where they present the duck is flashy and unnecessary, but some may enjoy the fanfare, and it certainly doesn't take anything away from the delicious duck. First course is carved tableside and served with the standard crepes, hoisin, green onions and cucumbers, but also coarse sugar, plum sauce, and pear, which gives a nice variety. Other standout dishes include the pan fried Angus beef with house special sauce and a spicy soup with fish. There's parking available for customers, a small lot at street level, but also a small underground lot (entrance to the lot is close to the restaurant entrance).
Staff don't speak English in this high end restaurant ð¥º
Food are bad, the way they cut the Beijing duck is no good, supposedly, skin is more than the meat, but they made it opposite, not crispy enough
We loved our patio seating even it was cloudy. We found that patio is much quieter compare to inside. The servers are very patient with our two toddlers needs and wants. We had a wonderful family reunion for a birthday. The food was tasty too! Way better than I expected since itâs a VIEW restaurant. Itâs not over priced for foods which will definitely make us go back again.
The roasted duck( 烤鸭)is very good. The skin is crispy and the meat is tender. The chef’s slicing skills are outstanding.I love their homemade tofu with dipping sauce. The tofu is tender and bouncy with the natural aroma of soy bean. It tastes clean and delicious. Strongly recommend! The starter is very good. Their chili sauce is very delicious and MO(typical bread in Xi’an) has a very crispy crust. Delicious! The other dishes are mediocre at best. The chili sauté beef is so so. Beef is not hand cut which I am not happy about. They just try to the same pre packaged beef cut for multiple dishes. This is not what I would expect for such high price. The mushroom soup is clear but not umami enough.Shanghai style smoked fish is not good. The smoke flavor is not strong enough, and it is way too sweet and salty. The crispness is impressive though! The BiangBiang noodle is not good. The noodle does not have the same thickness and the chili is not aromatic. And way too sour. Even I make a better one.Basically none of the dishes makes me feel like ordering again.
Good service! I think Chang’An does a good job of encapsulating traditional Chinese dishes, such as chicken (goji, red date) soup and white fungus dessert soup
We highly recommend the pekin duck!
We went there for my brotherâs birthday. The pekin duck is amazing. We are def going back!
