A little tucked away, Carp (named after the owner/chef Yuki’s hometown baseball team) has become a neighbourhood fixture, hitting a rare sweet spot in Vancouver’s wide variety of small, mostly take-away sushi places of high quality and good value.I’ve lost count of the number of chirashi bowls, Mt Pleasant combos, and spam musubi I’ve eaten over the years, but I’m definitely going back for more.

Fantastic food for a great price in a minimal homey environment, I just discovered this spot and cannot wait to go back. Sushi cones are a delight, the curry was tasty and the miso was on point! Exceptional service?

Carp Sushi + Bowl is a small I would say mostly Poke bowl focused restaurant with extremely limited seating, it is definitely geared more towards being a take out place then anything else.I ordered the Salmon Poke bowl, 2 tuna nigiri and a spicy salmon roll. The salmon bowl was flavorful, the seafood tasted fresh but that is to be expected in Vancouver, however it really wasn't anything special by any means. The sushi to me was super disappointing, the rolls were not rolled tight enough and the rice was not sticky enough, it essentially fell apart as we were eating them. The rolls again were nothing stand out to me.The service was pretty nice but again it's geared more towards being a take out restaurant so the service is limited to paying.Overall Carp is just okay to me, it feels like a place that a bunch of hipsters would say is the best just because of the small restaurant vibe to it.

Any of their bowls! One of those “hole in the wall” places you shouldn’t sleep on! I got the chirashi bowl and it did not disappoint

Their food is always amazing. So delicious , big servings and speedy service for a reasonable price too. One time they had it made by the time I was done paying. The staff are so nice and I can’t recommend this enough. Truly a lovely hidden gem in mt. Pleasant

A cute little spot right across the mall for a delightful lunch or dinner. In the mere 30 minutes of my time here, more than 7 customers came in for take out and their needs were all met within minutes.Unfortunately due to size constraint, only 2 tables are available for dine in, so definitely recommend for take out for large groups.Price was very reasonable and their lo-fi music choice paired with the delicious food really made my afternoon.

Great food, great prices, very cozy, a hidden gem and worth the trip. Had the chicken curry, gyoza, and truffle mashed potatoes, was delicious.

It was not as good as I expectedThe food is okay in small portionsThe staff at the counter was not friendly and even rude but the person who was preparing the food was very nice and even kindly offered us a bowl of goma ae.The location is very small and more for takeout

Used to be a good place! Now is not good anymore, i saw the helper guys just microwave heat up the Gyoza for us, before they serve fresh gyoza, now is frozen cook gyoza, the prize is went up, not worth it! Disappointed

This place deserves every positive comment it has. It is the fifth time I am in the city and every time I come I get out of my way to visit and have a bowl or sushi at Carp, after discovering it by accident (it was just the closest place open to the office that day).It is so fresh, the textures are just right and the flavors are out of this world. Service is amazing as well, making sure you have a great experience.
