This place has been a favourite since I discovered them in 2014.The ambience is dark but cozy and feels homey. The staff is always a pleasure and you can tell there's always a few regulars around with obvious love and a protective air for the place (**saw it first hand when a few stepped out to look into a possible issue when someone hit the window in passing)Interesting range of drinks , the red sangria is my favourite and their classic old fashioned really hit the spot too.Now for the main event : fooood!Their hush puppies and cornbread is probably the best I've had and I always leave with extras ;)The halfstop : 70$ , huge serving, took plenty home .2 beef ribs, 5 pork ribs, 2-3 smoked chicken, 3 smoked brisket, ramekin of pulled pork, Comes with fries, coleslaw, sauce and cornbread and hush puppies with cinnamon butter. We swapped the fries for beans (yummy) .The pork ribs last night were divine and the pulled pork was deliciously smokey . Everything else was good too, though I felt the beef ribs were a little dry but still tasty. They also have Monday burger specials which is nice . Another special mention is the fried dill pickles! Best way to get the appetite rolling . Slurp slurp !All in all, I love this place and look forward to introducing new people to buckstop every chance I get !

The food is awesome, has a kind of medieval ambiance.Would recommend the meat. Pulled pork, ribs, came with a donut type bread, hush puppies, was so good.Great place for meat eaters. Coleslaw excellent!!! Fries mmmmmmDefinitely my destination when I’m craving ribs.

Best homemade ketchup, amongst other highlights ?

I had a coupon and BBQ is always a good choice for dinner so we tried it.We ordered the Family Style Half Stop Barbecue. It was a nice variety of meats. The two ribs were solid, like smoked jerky. Not chewy but a tiny bit dry. They were better with some extra sauce. The smoked chicken was enjoyable but not rave worthy. My friend's first comment was that his is better. Therefore I challenged him to make me some so I can compare for myself. :) The beans and pulled pork were good enough I'd get them again. The cornbread was half way to cake. It was good with beans, and with the cinnamon spread that came with the hush puppies. I'd never had hush puppies before and could easily eat a basket of those for dessert.

Ordered takeout and everything we had was gross and cold. The gravy, I can assure you, is not gravy. The turkey sandwich was almost bereft of sauce. Slathering it in ketchup helped. The provided ketchup was actually pretty good. The beans I don't think they're preparing in-house, and tasted like the canned stuff, which is lol. Buffalo cauliflower had a very strange taste, that I can't quite describe - almost like something used in the preparation was spoiled. Such a shame, as we don't get the chance to eat out often. I'm sorry to say, that if I could review with 0 stars, I would.

This place is a hidden gem! Should have way more stars. 100% give this a shot. The chef/manager clearly loves BBQ and it shows in the food.Regarding the negative comments, yeah, you’re not going to get pampered here. My partner and I came in hella cheery and we were almost ignored at first and just told to sit wherever. Lol. They weren’t rude though! All in all, place isn’t trying to be some kind of bougie experience - it feels like a bar. You’re going to get served damn great BBQ at reasonable prices. And that’s fantastic.

Shockingly incredible BBQ in this easy to miss location. Don't miss food experience if you love BBQ in a friendly, laid back environment!

All the meat tasted identical, old and wet . Nothing was fall off the bone here. My first bite was a fry and at that moment I knew I was in for a bad experience. No love in this food. You can get a fresher tasting meal in a soup line. Cramped, dark and cold. It appeared to more of a neighbourhood bar than a restaurant. More of an atmosphere for the neighbourhood drunks. Plenty of leftovers which we were happy to give to the first homeless people sleeping under a tarp.

Dark, laid back, excellent staff. Our waiter was attentive yet a pro at reading our table. The share platter was (more than) adequate to feed three hungry souls. Drink was good. Will return.

Don't be fooled by their cool website, server is so rude that you feel afraid of speaking. I really don't know what the problem is , it looked like he didn't want me and my husband to have dinner in there, I don't want to think he was kind of racist??????Place conditions are not the cleanest and there was a weird/not pleasant smell.
