This restaurant did not live up to its reviews. The sashimi quality was poor. And the sushi sampler platter we ordered should not be called sushi at all. It was rice with a fishy paste on top and tons of mayo, scorched. There was not a slice of solid fish on any of the nigiri. We ordered the soft shell crab and octopus plates. We ate both and could not tell which was which. Breaded, chewy clumps doused with sweet sauce. Our waitress was kind, but distracted, inattentive, and her very limited English resulted in some missed dishes (we were thankful for that afterwards since we would have preferred not to have eaten here at all). Everything was overly sweet and overly sauced. Perhaps all the stoned young people might enjoy some of these dishes, but it is definitely not a place to go if your palate is at all refined and you're looking for an authentic izakaya experience. The restaurant is nice looking, but a place that has $300 sakes on its menu, shouldn't be making such mediocre food. Maybe we were spoiled by Guu With Garlic, but it feels wrong to even mention these two places in the same review.

Food was fresh and good, staff were attentive and pleasant. One thing they could do was maybe tone down the trance music a little bit :)

Service has vastly improved from a couple of years ago. Servers are very friendly and helpful. Food is served quickly and is delicious. Keep the barriers up between tables post covid …

Amazing experience!

A really fun vibrant vibe, small place with that classic Izakaya variety. The sashimi was fresh, flavourful and delicate.I love squid, octopus and cuttlefish and I have it often - so the butter based Ikayaki was a treat. Opulently rich and creamy, it was memorable.Service was very friendly and I appreciated the insight shared about the food. Not a cheap place but won’t break the bank if you’re looking for a nice meal.

Restaurant smells panned fried old oil. Tables separated by cover make you feel lonely and all of our dishes were served at the same time.

Good place to enjoy food and drinks with friends!!

My friend who was treating was very disappointed with the slow service. You need more staff on weekends. The staff was already trying their best. I dont' know if I would recommend because of that,

Interesting. They didn't have sashimi grade tuna, salmon or saba. This restaurant is known for their cooked fare. They do tempura well. Udon. Cooked fish/crab etc. But no sashimi. Odd, for a Japanese restaurant. We visited twice with 10 days. It was good, but not great.

Great food and friendly service
